Young Chinese nurse Qing (23) never left her homeland so far and is keen to see the world. An apprenticeship as a geriatric nurse in Germany seems promising but as an only child she is also torn between her desire for freedom and her sense of family. The film starts with telling Qing's last days in China - all her hopes and fears. Her arrival in the small city of Schopfheim in the middle of the provincial backwaters of Southern Germany causes a cultural clash. Language barriers, workload, the resolute nature of their Kasakh director and homesickness challenge the young woman. But she won't give up - taking full responsibility of the elderly and ending up building sincere relationships with her chinese colleagues and above all 100 year old Mr. Reiner who not only reminds her of her own grandfather but even becomes her mentor. This documentary in-between two worlds tells 3 years of maturing. Not only showing the naked truth about everyday life in nursing homes, but also the loveliness that comes with it.
