  • After decoding the information embedded in the Fulcrum, Red is determined to stop the imminent threat. Meanwhile, the task force discovers that deceased bodies of Chinese-American women are being smuggled out of the country under false identities. Liz continues to search for answers about her past after discovering a picture hidden in Red's secret flat.

Descrizione

  • It's night. Two men cut through a fence and go through it. There's a sign on the fence saying "Throughton Cemetery, No Trespassing." They find the plot they're looking for and start digging. A guard approaches with a flashlight asking what's going on. They fight and overpower the guard. Scars on the back of the head and neck of one of the men are shown. He looks Asian. He kills the guard with a shovel.

A sterile-looking room with a metal table. On it is a plastic bag containing a body. Three men walk in speaking Chinese: a short Asian guy with a mustache, the Scar Guy and another guy. They open the bag: there's a dead Asian young woman: Marjorie Lin, 24, unmarried, died of heart attack. They agree on the price and Short Guy leaves with the file. Scar Guy leans over the body, strokes her hair and says: "You're going to be so pretty."

Foggy Washington DC. Liz enters a cluttered room where Tom's sitting with a laptop in hand. She is talking about the picture she saw and photographed in Red's secret flat: she had the photo enhanced and ran it through every database and facial recognition. Tom tries to change the subject and shows her a picture of a boat and says they could disappear. Liz won't listen, goes on about the picture. Tom says: "Reddington knows who she is." Liz says she knows: the girl is her and she believes the woman may be her mother. Tom asks: "That mean Reddington is your dad?". Liz says no, her father died in a fire when she was 4. She says: "Reddington was there, I think she may have been too." Tom asks why doesn't Liz just ask Reddington, she says Reddington would already have told her if he wanted her to know the truth. She says he wants to keep her from knowing and will silence anyone who might help. Tom says Red's silence is telling. The people Tom asked about Red were afraid to say anything because Red got to them before and bullied them into silence. Suddenly Tom stares at the screen and recognizes the ring on the woman's forefinger. He says Berlin wore the same ring, it's a Russian inspection stamp. Liz says Tom knows people who worked with Berlin and could reach out to them. Tom looks worried.

A house in the countryside. We see Red walk inside and apologize to Leonard, telling him he wanted to come sooner. Leonard pulls over a chair for Red and says it's a wonder he came at all having a bullet taken out of his chest 5 days ago. Leonard says he configured a program to make copies of the data of the Fulcrum. Red says the data is 25 years old and much of it must be obsolete. Leonard says much of the players are the same. Red says smilingly: "The Director believes there are too many players on the board. He thinks a bi-polar world is inherently more stable." Leonard says that whatever they want to do, it won't start before 2017. Red says the Director is advancing the time line and with Hobbs gone Red lost his man on the inside. He says they need to find Kenneth Jasper, one of the Director's closest allies, who will know these plans. Red says he threatened to kill him when he betrayed Roger Hobbs - to cut out his tongue and personally deliver it to the Director.

We see Liz walking towards the house. Red meets her outside. Liz says "Swanky digs" and Red tells her that after visiting his apartment in Bethesda she should know he likes "old and somewhat decrepit." Red sits in a garden chair, Dembe's there, too. Liz explains Dembe asked her to go and find the interface for the Fulcrum. Red says Dembe needed her to get the Fulcrum and wanted her to discover secrets. He asks if she discovered any secrets. She notices an envelope on a table in front of Red and asks "What's that?" He tells her to look inside. Inside are identification documents for Lien Mah: fake birth certificate, fake passport, death certificate, proof of embalming. Red says it's everything necessary to convince the US State Department that the woman was a Chinese national who died in the US and her body is to go back to China. Liz wonders who would ship a fictitious corpse to China and Red says a clever smuggler. Liz asks whose body is being shipped if Lien Mah is fake. Red points to another of the documents - a news article about a murder of a guard during a grave robbery - the body of Marjorie Lin was stolen. Red tells Liz to compare the photos - it's the same woman. Liz asks why this case. Red says the smuggler has business with the Cabal. He mentions the Taiwan Festival bombing in 2011, 32 dead, 9 injured. The IED that took out the convoy and headed to the Chinese consulate in Jakarta last year, 17 dead. He says the Cabal was behind them and the smuggler transported explosives for them. Liz asks why he wants to go after him, since she went to the Director, showed him the Fulcrum and restored Red's leverage. Red says the leverage is now gone and asks her what she knows about the Fulcrum. And what does the Director know that she now knows. He tells Lizzy that by saving him she revealed herself as a powerful enemy and is now a target they will want to discredit or destroy. He concludes that they need to find the smuggler.

Post Office main hall. Navabi, Aram, Ressler and Cooper gather at a desk. Navabi says they obtained the list of foreigners who died in the USA and were repatriated and 7 stood out. Aram explains their passports were forged using fictitious names, like the documentation Red gave Liz. The big screen displays their photos. Ressler asks who these women were. Navabi says there were more bodies stolen. The 7 photos were matched with 7 grave robberies. The bodies are Asian - and more specifically, Chinese - females under 25. They were shipped back to China. Liz says there's good chance explosives were transported in the caskets. The plan is to let the smuggler file the papers for Lien Mah and seize the casket when it's on the plane.

Back to the Scar Guy. He is leaning over Lien Mah and taking a clay model of her teeth. Her teeth look nice and white. We see some scissors and instruments close to her head. He closes her mouth and smiles. We see she is now wearing makeup. He strokes her head.

Back to "Red's" house. It's sunny, there is a body of water in the background and we see Red and Dembe walking through the driveway. Red says: "It's enough for today" but Dembe insists on one more lap because it's an important part of his therapy. We see Red is kind of limping, he complains they should have let him die, because nobody told him about this aimless walking :-D Leonard approaches saying Jasper is gone, cancelled all meetings and fled in his plane 4 days ago leaving no visa trail. Red tells Dembe to send Alex and Barton to Key West. As Red narrates the plan, we see his men execute it: they arrive at a marina where Jasper's yacht is docked, Barton posing as Jasper. They go aboard, take the yacht to sea and blow it up, making it look as an accident. They tip off the press, and the stocks of Jasper's company are falling at the news of the accident and his disappearance. They will have to hold a press conference to stop it and they'll have Jasper's location. Leonard is worried Jasper won't show up, but Red explains he has two ex-wives, a Brazillian mistress and a ranch and it all needs money so he'll show up.

Cooper and Connolly talk in Cooper's office. Connolly is worried the press believes a fugitive from FBI's most wanted list was in DC and Connolly looks like he doesn't know anything about it, that it looks like he's more focused on getting this job than doing it. He gives Cooper the name of a reporter and says he should leak something to him to make it look like Connolly's office and FBI are on Reddington's case.

Post Office main hall. Aram says the body has been delivered to the airport, Cooper orders for the flight to be stopped. Ressler, Navabi and Liz are headed out when Liz gets a message. She says it's from Redington and he wants to meet and goes off by herself.

A robot approaches the casket and goes around it as Ressler, Navabi and the bomb squad look on a screen with its camera feed. Initial scans don't indicate explosives. The robot opens the casket and the body of Marjorie Lin is inside. No explosives. Ressler says it's impossible. Navabi speculates the smuggler hid something in the body and they need to open it. A bomb squad doctor is put into a protective suit, opens the body up and says it's very well preserved but nothing's off.

Liz is waiting at a counter of what seems like a gym or spa. Inside, Tom is trying to get information about the picture from a tall bald guy. He denies knowing who it is. Tom insists and they start fighting. The people from the reception desk, including Liz, hear the commotion and head there. Liz draws a gun and tells the guys to let Tom go. She asks Baldie for a name but he says he swore on his life he wouldn't say anything. It's evident it was Reddington who is behind it - he signed as Kershaw on the list of people going in before them. Liz and Tom leave.

Liz is in Red's secret apartment looking for something and saying aloud she knows it is there and that's why Red knew she saw the picture and threatened people.

Red sits in a room and watches Jasper holding a press conference. He smiles widely. Leonard is there, too. Red tells him to watch Jasper when he leaves there and hopes his doctor will clear him to fly.

Liz is still searching, asking "Where are you?". She finds a camera hidden in a clock. Dembe hands Red a tablet with the feed from this camera. Liz is looking into it and says: "Hello Mr Kershaw." She says she knows he's listening and that he keeps all his secrets in this flat and doesn't want anyone to know. She threatens him that unless he answers her questions she will find all of his secrets and kind of smiles into the camera. Red calls her and says it's time to discuss the photo.

Liz is at Red's house. He says the girl is her and the woman is her mother, Katarina Rostova, KGB agent. He tells Liz her name was Masha and she was born in Moscow. Her parents were both working for foreign intelligence. Liz says Red was there that night but he doesn't want to tell her. She says her memory of that night was blocked. Asked, Red admits it was him. She asks why but he won't tell and doesn't answer why he has the photo and if he was in love with her mother. He says he's not going to tell her what happened and she says she'll find out. She leaves.

Cooper and his wife sit in a parked car. He says Connolly wants him to leak information and his treatment depends on it. She tells he should do it. He doesn't agree.

Post Office main hall. Liz says there had to be something in the casket because the smuggler helped terrorist acts in the past. Navabi says maybe it's the bodies. Aram notices the body's teeth were fixed post mortem. They have the address of the guy who did the teeth.

Jasper is talking on the phone that he did many interviews and the share price will recover. Red walks in, with Dembe who has another guy on gunpoint.

The squad goes to the address, it's the place where the body was. Liz sees two life-sized dolls, male and female, dressed in fancy traditional Chinese clothes. Ressler walks in, too. Aram explains it's a Ghost Bride, a forbidden Chinese folk custom: if someone dies unmarried, they are alone on the other side and come back to haunt the relatives. This is why the smuggler takes female bodies to China - to bury them as companions of unmarried men who died. The squad wonders who the groom is.

Red calls Navabi and says he needs her.

In the room with the table, Ressler discovers a suitcase full of money.

Red has Jasper tied to a chair in his house, tells him he offered to make him king but he rejected the offer and here he is. Red introduces Navabi as Mossad agent trained in interrogation. She unwraps some instruments and a big, nasty syringe. Post Office main hall. Aram analyzed the money and it's worth more than its sum. The serial numbers are unique - there are no 4s since it sounds like "death" in Cantonese. So they are like lucky bills, worth 5$ for one. There's only one place to buy this amount of "customized" bills: The US Treasury. Aram identified the buyer: Chaoxiang Han. He found an article that he and his wife buried their only son Jin who was the heir to their tech empire worth billions. He killed himself after his fiancé An Bai left him. She now lives in DC. She is the next target as the parents blame her for Jin's death. They head out to her place.

We see An Bai leaving a building. Scar Guy is there.

At Red's home, Navabi is sticking a huge syringe into Jasper's mouth. Red laughs and talks about the interrogation scene in a movie Marathon Man. He tells Jasper to tell him the Director's plans or they're gonna pull all his teeth out. Jasper says he doesn't know. Red doesn't believe him. He didn't accept Red's offer of gaining a higher position in the Cabal, which means his position is very high already. Red says he doesn't like dentistry and leaves Jasper with Navabi. Navabi cuts Jasper free saying it's the Director's order. They sneak out, Dembe tries to stop them but she shoots him. They drive away. Liz and Ressler are on their way to An Bai's house.

Back to Jasper and Navabi in the car. He's happy and says he knew they had someone on the inside. She seems angry her cover is blown. He wants to make sure she tells the Director he said nothing or he's dead. Navabi says she doesn't know what he said. He says nothing. She tells him what Reddington knows - that the time line is being advanced and that there will be events leading to another WW. Jasper says it's Leonard Caul who told Red that. She says Reddington has the Fulcrum. Jasper insists he didn't say anything - in fact he only knows they're targeting a defense infrastructure and the Director will choose next week. Navabi brings Jasper back to Red's house.

An Bai walks into her home, the phone is ringing. It's Aram warning her. She locks the door but someone is already inside and grabs her from behind. It's Scar Guy. The police arrive as they struggle. Aram hears her screams on the phone. The police knock on the door. The house looks empty, but as one of them approaches the garage, a car rides out of it knocking him over. Ressler just arrived and crashes into the leaving car. They arrest Scar Guy.

Interrogation room. Navabi and Liz talk to Scar Guy. He insists the belief is real: his brother died young and unmarried and haunted the family. He has the scars from a terrible fire that killed his parents. After that he buried a young woman's body beside his brother and the bad luck stopped. He says Jin Han haunts his parents and threatens that will now haunt them. They say they know he works for the Cabal. They mention Taiwan and Jakarta. He says he's listening. They tell him there will be an attack on US soil and they know he was contracted to smuggle in a weapon. He says it was an agent: Karakurt and is already here. He tells Liz her bad luck is beginning.

DC, some hallway. Cooper tells Connolly he won't leak files and accuses him of manipulating him with access to treatment to get what he wants. Connolly says the situation is much worse than he thinks and he did get leverage over Cooper, but not for himself. It's the Cabal. Connolly tells Cooper he needs to understand that they own him because Cooper lied to protect Liz, broke federal law and leaked classified files - that they have already been leaked; Cooper's wife did it. Connolly warns him that the Cabal won't hesitate to hurt Cooper or his wife.

The Director is sitting at his desk. He receives a package. Red calls him and tells him he talked to Jasper today and he didn't hold his tongue. It's Jasper's tongue in the box.

Liz sits in a car, it's raining, she's looking at her mother's picture and crying.

Connolly is being sworn in. Cooper looks troubled and disgusted.

Red calls Liz but she rejects the call. He is sitting and looking at the same picture.

A casket is delivered to a warehouse. Inside is a man with a mask and oxygen tank. He opens his eyes. A man stand above him and welcomes him in the US - in Russian.

Liz, soaking wet in the rain, knocks at the door of the place Tom now lives. He asks her if she wants to talk about it and she shakes her head no. He goes out to her and hugs her, stroking her hair.
