Blooper

Andre hands Barbara a cup of coffee, which she promptly drops. You see the shattered pieces of the cup on the floor, but no coffee.

When André and Barbara are bike-riding, they have a break and André suggests a ride to the beach. The relative positions of André and Barbara on the bike path vary depending whether the shot is from behind André's position or from in front of Barbara.

In the English-subtitled version, 62 minutes in Barbara's lover tells her to "bum" (not "burn") the piece of paper he has given her.

In the movie, there is no mention of where the hospital where Barbara is working is located. However, her patient is a prisoner from nearby Torgau which included the historical Torgau Juvenile Detention Center near the Elbe River. The closing scenes indicate that the escape from East Germany is from an ocean landing but the nearest water with large waves is the Baltic Sea which is more than 200 miles north of Torgau.
