- The moment New Directions has been waiting for has finally arrived: it's time for Regionals! But when Sue pulls a fast one on Will and the glee clubbers, their chances at the title could be compromised. Meanwhile, Quinn's life changes forever.—Fox Publicity
- Open with word Sue (Jane Lynch) will be one of the regional judges. Will (Matthew Morrison) is furious about the news but Principal Figgins (Iqbal Theba) says there is nothing he can do about the rules. We are reminded if they do not finish first or second, New Directions will be cancelled.
We get a flashback to the conversation just prior to Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Puck (Mark Salling) conceiving their baby. She asks whether he has protection and he says "trust me." Cut to Quinn daydreaming in Will's kitchen. She is one month shy of her due date.
Will tells the rest of the kids about Sue being a judge. The Cheerios girls confirm Sue's intention is to ensure they will not finish in the one of the requisite top-2 spots. The kids cry and Rachel (Lea Michele) thinks there is no point to even picking songs for regionals.
Will tells Emma (Jayma Mays) what happened with Sue. She reminds him he almost quit once and what brought him back was singing at nationals It was the happiest he'd ever been. She confesses she is dating a dentist.
In the car Will hears Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and begins to cry.
Finn (Cory Monteith) calls Rachel out for being so quick to give up. He tells her they are going to regionals to win and she kisses him. In the choir room Will tells them the Journey song reminded him what counts is the journey. They will be doing a Journey medley at regionals. The "getting there has been so much fun."
Prior to regionals we see along with Sue, Josh Groban (Josh Groban) and Olivia Newton-John (Olivia Newton-John) are also judges. He hears the first school to perform, Aural Intensity, is performing a mash-up of Groban and Newton-John.
Backstage Will tells the kids winning is not what matters.
Just prior the the performance, Finn tells Rachel he loves her. Glee performs a medley of Journey to a overwhelmingly positive crowd response. Afterwards Judy (Charlotte Ross), Quinn's mother, meets her backstage and says she's kicked out her husband and wants Quinn to move back in. "Say something," she tells Quinn.
Quinn: "My water just broke."
Vocal Adrenaline's performance of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" is spliced over Quinn giving birth to her baby.
After VA's performance, Rachel goes backstage and tells Shelby (Idina Menzel) she should come to McKinley and be co-directors with Will. Shelby says meeting Rachel let her know she needs to find a family. Rachel tells her Quinn had the baby.
We see the judges meeting to pick the winners. Along witth Groban and Newton-John, Bill Remington (Bill A. Jones) is also present as a Regionals judge. Sue finds herself defending New Directions when Newton-John rips the kids.
We see the awards ceremony. Aural Intensity finishes second and Vocal Adrenaline is the winner. The VA team is ecstatic. Jesse St James (Jonathan Groff) turns and hugs Shelby.
Quinn and Puck stare at the baby in the nursery. Quinn says she doesn't want to keep the baby. Puck says he loves her. Shelby shows up next to them and asks about the baby. She asks if there is a name. Puck says Beth and Shelby says "I like that name."
The next day in school, Will is surprised to find Emma in Figgins' office, shouting at him over the planned disbanding of Glee after the loss at Regionals. She is frustrated Sue is going to win and Will seems to be giving up too easily. This leads to Will telling Emma he loves her and giving her a long kiss. Rachel walks up and asks Will to come to the auditorium.
When Will arrives in the auditorium the entire group is on stage waiting. They individually thank him and tell they actually won because he was their coach. The kids then perform an emotional rendition of "To Sir, with Love."
Sue walks in while Will is cleaning out the choir room. He asks about the voting. Sue says she can't divulge what happened, but we see in a visual flashback showing Sue voted Will and his kids first. Will tells Sue: "You win and I lose. The kids lose." She responds that while he still disgusts her, she doesn't want to live in a world where she can't make fun of Will and the glee club. Sue went to Figgins and told him to give Glee one more year. She says she admires what he does and shakes his hand.
Will tells the kids (who apparently are all underclassmen) "we have another year." They all cheer and hug one another. He tells them to take the summer off before performing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with Puck. During the song we see Shelby has adopted Quinn and Puck's baby and is naming her Beth.
