I watched this film with my teenage son. We both had the same reaction ... a similar one that we have to most of the Saturday night made for SyFy movies - ehhhhhhhhhhh ... not our cup of tea.
However on reflection, considering that the budget of FURY was less than 1% of those SyFy movies and there were less than 10% of the crew in total, the resulting film begins to look more favorable in that light.
Making a feature film on a shoestring is no easy task ... to make one that compares to a studio film is amazing.
I won't recount the plot ... that's done better on the IMDb page, but I will say that the acting is competent (a few of the actors are quite good), the writing is on par with those Global Asylum produced pictures, and the overall production values are in many cases better than those of, say, "30,000 Leagues Under the Sea".
As a movie, in some cases, there are plot points introduced that are not resolved, the opening scenes overuse profanity to the point that there are more M?#$*^@ F&%#$@'s than regular words and the overall plot has too many elements (drug dealing, ghosts, a concert) that end up being under served.
But once again, compared to these other movies with multiple million dollar budgets, FURY stands with them.
Based on your personal preferences in movies, I suggest that you might try FURY for yourself.
And remember ... it wasn't made for a quick payday ... No/Low Indie films never are - it's a labor of love.
