While the quartet assembles to practice in the beginning, Daniel is asked to give a first violinist a listen; he agrees, then looks to Juliette, who agrees it's a good idea. She is shown with her bow at waist height, but in the next shot she holds it in front of her face.

When Daniel explains to Alexandra how the smallest difference in horse hair can change the timbre of the violin, he pronounces it tim-ber instead of the correct pronunciation, TAM-ber.

The quartet's formation is detailed and identified in a mock New York Times feature dated October 1988; the celebration of its 25 years together is shown with a mock Gramophone cover feature, dated February 2011. This is inaccurate and premature.
