Blooper

When Ray is preparing for his date with Chloe and is checking himself in the mirror, he is trying to decide whether to leave his top button open or button it. He decides to button it, then turns to Ken for approval and the camera cuts to a different angle. You can see in his reflection in the mirror that his top button is open. When he faces the mirror again and the screen cuts back, it is buttoned again.

When Harry and Ken meet in the outdoor restaurant, the type of glass Harry drinks from changes from a large glass to a small glass.

When Ken is drinking alone in the bar, the bartender serves him a glass of beer that is well below full. The camera angle changes and then changes back again to show Ken is about to drink from a full glass.

The length of the Chloe's cigarette when she and Ray are at dinner changes between cuts.

When Ray is getting ready for his date, he is very clean-shaven. A short time later, in the restaurant, he has a heavy 5 o'clock shadow.

The stationery of the hotel where Ken and Ray are staying has the hotel name as "De Rozenkransje - Brugge". Brugge being the Flemish name for the town of Bruges. Even a fictitious Belgian hotel would never be named like that, because the article is incorrect. 'Rozenkrans', meaning Rosary, would indeed have the article 'de'. However, 'Rozenkransje' is the diminutive and as such would always have 'Het' as the article. Even for proficient but non-native Flemish/Dutch speakers, this is a commonly made mistake.

At 5:25, when Ken purchases his ticket to visit the tower, he puts the coins on the desk and says : "3, 3.50, 4...", but the coin that is supposed to be a 50 cents coin - from 3.50 to 4 - is indeed a 20 cents coin.

The Belfry in Bruges is 272 feet tall. The shot from his first ascent appears to be from under 100 feet as you would not be able to see the square as clearly from the top of the actual tower.

It is impossible to kneel down for so long after being shot a gun shot to the head (child).

It would be impossible to look up to one's own forehead after being shot a gun shot from the back of the head (child).

Harry says on the phone that there are no bowling alleys in Bruges but the Bowl Inn Brugge bowling alley has been operating since 1998.

However, Harry has not been to Bruges in decades and Ken is lying his way out of his lies...

During one scene Chloe states "English humor" when referring to one of the Irish leads - but it seems unlikely she would know the difference, even though the characters were changed from English after casting.

Furthermore, continental Europeans often make the mistake and don't understand the difference between English, British, Irish, Welsh and even Scottish.

When Harry and Ken first meet at the outdoor cafe, neither one ordered a drink, but a waiter brings over two glasses of beer.

However, in a dramatic style, it is very possible that Ken had ordered two beers to be served when Harry eventually met with him.

(at around 8 minutes) When the fat tourists are making their way up the tower one of the main characters refers to the tourists as "Americans". However, when the "Americans" yell at him telling him he is mean saying "screw you"; they have an Irish accent.

It is however possible that they are more educated that they initially sound and are mimicking the Irish accent to curse Ray.

When they arrived in Bruges, Ken and Ray have a conversation about not having guns, but Ray had one in the church when he shot the priest and the young boy by accident.

However, during the opening voice-over Ray mentions throwing the gun in the Thames.

When Ray is sitting on the bed removing his shoes in the hotel room he is doing so in semi-darkness because Ken told him to turn off the lights. Ray's face was covered in darkness and was lightened (edited) in an odd way. The oval of light can be seen on Ray's face and doesn't track very well.

The gun shot to Ken's knee should have been heard by all the tourists down in the streets (the tower was built so that all could hear the bell).

When Ray tells Ken that they are in the Basilica of the Holy Blood, named after a phial of Christ's blood brought back from the Crusades, they are not. They are in the Jeruzalemkerk, a private church built in the 15th century as a mausoleum for a wealthy merchant's family. The Basilica is the most visited church in Bruges.

It is unprofessional of Harry to instruct Ken to kill Ray, because the two have been all about Bruges for a couple of days. It would be easy for the police to track Ken, which would ultimately lead to Harry.
