Robert & Amy celebrate their 3-month anniversary and invite Ray, Debra, Marie, and Frank to dinner. Robert & Amy are in the throes of new love and give marriage advice to the others. New love is different from old love and a debate begins.

Debra and Ray are annoyed at the over-the-top affection Robert and Amy express. Robert and Amy then give Ray marriage advice. Robert advises Ray to connect with Debra emotionally, hold hands, and participate in house chores. Robert says that simply holding hands would make Debra feel wanted and loved. Ray dismisses all of Robert's advice. He says that Robert married a stripper, then divorced her, then married again and now has hung on for a full 3 months.

Ray wants to "win" the marriage contest against Amy and Robert. Robert has invited them to dinner for their 3-month anniversary. So, Ray tries holding hands with Debra at night (at first Debra believes that Ray wants to have sex, but Ray says that he only wants to hold hands), but soon starts complaining that Debra holds too tight and so on. Debra complains that Ray's hands are practically limp. Ray says that Debra likes to be mad at him all the time. Debra says that she is mad because Ray held her hand for the first time in 10 years because of Robert's advice. Debra soon figures out that Ray is holding hands only because he wants to beat Robert in front of Marie (who will also be attending the dinner). Ray says that Marie will be comparing Amy's marriage to Debra and is sure that Debra would want to win that contest. Debra refuses to be sucked into this and tells Ray that he is on his own.

Before entering Amy's apartment, Ray makes one more attempt to get Debra on his side, but she refuses. Robert and Amy are perfectly synchronized and work together to serve dinner for their guests. Robert and Amy cannot keep their hands off each other.

At the dinner Amy gives Debra a book about marriage advises. Amy says that Debra helped her getting together with Robert and even helped marry him, and now she wants to help Debra with her marriage. Amy says that the book compares a marriage to an amusement park, and its major point is that one may not like all the rides, but one has to accept the whole park.

At the dinner table, Robert and Amy make romantic toasts about each other, while Ray and Debra cannot wait to eat their meals. Ray and Debra are ticked off and they make a scene at the dinner table. Debra says that it's only been 3 months and Amy and Robert are making a too much of a big deal out of it. Robert says that Ray and Debra are jealous as he and Amy have a more harmonious marriage. Debra also says that its presumptuous to assume that Amy thinks that her marriage is better than everyone else's. Amy then scores a self-goal by saying that she even got Marie a book on marriage advises. Now Marie is offended (as she has been married for 46 years), and Amy says that she was just trying to help. Ray and Robert start throwing food at each other.

Marie then gives them both some sound marriage advice. Marie says that the newlyweds know nothing and that Ray + Debra are always fighting. Marie says that a real marriage has yelling and anger, but one needs to accept it and plow through.
