Now Hampton is a successful businessman in the trucking industry which certainly making Rocky proud. And he's got a sideline as a motivational speaker. Now he wants to turn his company over to James Garner temporarily because he's getting a blackmail squeeze. And Jim Rockford becomes a business tycoon for a very short time.
Of course it's too good to be true. Hampton is up to his eyeballs in fraud and he's got both the Feds represented by Ken Swofford and the Mafia represented by Jerome Guardino after him. Now they've got Garner in their sights as well.
I couldn't quite wrap my mind around the fact that Garner could be so easily fooled in this one.

- QuizJim Rockford is limping the entire episode, which is even addressed in some of the dialogue. The real reason was because James Garner had undergone a knee operation during the hiatus between the filming of the first and second seasons. In an interview, James Garner explained that while shooting this episode, he'd fallen down a flight of stairs which aggravated the knee that had been operated on. His doctor instructed him to stay off his feet for a couple of days, but after the first day away from the studio, Universal began legal proceedings for breach of contract. Garner immediately went back to work, struggling as the episode completed filming.
- BlooperJim escapes in the Pizza Dan car and the pizza on the front hood is brown and faded. But after Jim arrives to pick up Rocky the pizza looks fresh and edible.
