The driver stopped by Ponch reaches for the beer can and hits his right cheek on the steering wheel. He grabs his mouth even though that was not where he was injured. In later scenes, he has a black eye even though he was injured on his cheek.

The chemical spill and fire toward the end of the show could not happen. If Hydroxycitric acid reacted with water the way it's shown on the show millions would die. Read the excerpt below from WebMD:

When the beer can is thrown into the other car, it makes the sound of an empty can hitting the ground.

Neither Ponch or Jon would be able to investigate the alleged assault as Ponch is the subject. In reality, Internal Affairs or the CHP equivalent would be investigating. No one from Ponchs' office would be allowed near the complainant.

After Ponch talks to the grandfather, he rides off and in the audio portion the motorcycle engine revs high and he shifts gears, indicating significant speed. The driveway as shown would not have allowed him to do so.

The chemical spill causes a pink cloud to form around the immediate area, and everyone is in close proximity without too many problems. But when Ponch goes to rescue the grandfather, he starts coughing and later has to be hospitalized from breathing the fumes.
