Fearing that his greatest box office magnet, matinée idol Cutey, is about to get married, thereby depreciating his value, McCauley, the manager, arranges with confidential insurance agents Martin Zevine and Kitty Keene to watch Cutey closely and prevent his marriage, if possible; McCauley takes out a policy against the contingency of his star's marriage. When Cutey finds out about this, he plans to lead the agents a merry chase. He commences by devoting himself to each woman in the company, from the star down, in turn. Kitty, according to plan, tries to win Cutey's affection, and after following him about, matters get more and more complicated until the two agents are all at sea. Cutey then makes a date to meet six different. girls at the same time and place. There is much subdued excitement as each girl thinks he will propose. At the appointed hour Cutey calmly counts the girls to see if they are all there, then announces that he is taking them all for a ride and points to where a large sight-seeing bus is drawn up at the curb.
