The film opens seeing a young woman pursued by a creature through the woods at night. She tries desperately to escape to her vehicle and is thwarted, a struggle ensues and then ... "CUT". The camera pulls back to reveal a film within in a film scenario and we then follow the main character Freddy as he leaves the set and arrives home. He removes his stage make-up and is confronted by his wife who reveals the twist in the story.

Bryan tries to find the perfect way to show how much he loves Carmen. Unfortunately, she is dating the school bully, who has also been bullying Bryan. Carmen sees Bryan as just a friend and does not know about the feelings he has for her. When paired up for a school project, Bryan tries one final time to prove his love for her and expose her boyfriend as a heartless person leading to a terrible showdown in the end.

John Walsh follows the story of Glen Stark Chambers, who killed his girlfriend and then escaped prison (not once but twice); Callahan Walsh follows Jesus Salazar, a suspect of murder who eludes capture for decades.
