- 'The system is simple: Word, Rap, Fall.' Word Step 1: A Wrongman, once in the system, puts the 'word' out on the street, spreading false rumors about his (so-called) criminal activities, drawing the police's attention away from the real thing. He commits no crimes- all he does is look guilty. 'When you're a Wrongman, you're the Devil without Hell.' Rap Step 2: A Wrongman arranges his own arrest, but makes sure that the evidence is not enough to convict and imprison him. He beats the 'rap' and the police, baited and frustrated, continue their pursuit. Meanwhile, the real criminals operate with impunity. 'Cameras everywhere, people asking about my private life, big money for whoever gets dirt on me. I'm on TV, the front page too. Hell - I feel like a movie star.' Fall Step 3: A Wrongman is arrested, tried, convicted and imprisoned. He takes the 'Fall' for his client. His sentence: always the minimum. His reward: millions. 'You have to be there. You have to watch it happen. So when the police ask you - they can smell the guilt on you. They can see it in your body. You were there.' But if a Wrongman breaks his contract, if he allows the system to be compromised or threatened in any way, if he goes back on his 'Word', fails to beat a 'Rap' or refuses to take a 'Fall', then he is considered a liability, a threat, cut off. He is Standalone. Standalone Once a Wrongman is Standalone, every gang in the city will focus its attention on destroying him in order to protect the system. If you are Standalone - you disappear. 'The last thing you ever want to be is your only friend.'

- Edge is the story of Edward 'Edge' Jones (Edge), a man with no memory of the event in the Persian Gulf war that left him physically scarred and lost in a civilian world that offers him no direction. From the past comes Lennox, a fellow soldier from the war, who invites him to go on a road trip with the promise of regaining the adventure and camaraderie they knew in the military. Edge is captured in the attraction of regaining his identity as a soldier and agrees to go, unaware of Lennox's all-consuming need for the powers of a warrior in battle. In the beginning, the trip re-awakens Edge's spirit, but gradually his memory returns as well, and as the events of the past become more horribly clear, so does Lennox's 'mission' become evident, and Edge finds himself in a nightmarish world of betrayal, both past and present. On a parallel road trip, a young girl, Berry, leads her mother on a quest to photograph UFO's, presumably for initiation into a society of witnesses. True motives involving the denial of her father's death, however, push below the surface of Berry's mission. Moving deeper into open country, the mother struggling to understand her daughter's feelings, the two women unknowingly get closer to the point where their own journey will converge with that of Edge and Lennox.
