While we may know who the Beast is by the time we get to the finale of the second half of "Teen Wolf’s" fifth season, the knowledge will create one hell of a dilemma for Scott’s pack. "The finale creates a really tough decision for the main characters of whether or not to defeat the creature or save a best friend," says show creator Jeff Davis. "They're going to have to make very hard choices." The finale is a culmination of things that are set in motion in the 19th episode. "We see the fruition of the Dread Doctors story, and we see how they reach success," says Davis. "In 20, we see all those climactic moments that happen because of it."

Although several plotlines will come to a satisfying close, fans will be dying to find out what’s next. "The last image of Episode 20 sets up a plotline in Season 6, a very important plotline," teases Davis. "But actually, the seeds of Season 6 have been sown all throughout Season 5. We have hinted towards it. So even the bad guys who show up in Season 6 will be familiar to people who have paid very close attention to Season 5."

But first, "it's going to become more and more difficult to save the person inside [the Beast] by the time we get to the finale," says Davis, so we asked him about everyone’s individual challenges as they reach season’s end.

Scott

"Scott (Tyler Posey) going into the finale is facing one of the biggest monsters he's ever faced, and he's not sure if he's able to defeat him on his own," says Davis. "He's going to need everyone he can, which is why the focus of the season was getting his pack back together. They're going to have a lot of trouble facing down the Beast of Gévaudan when it essentially becomes the Beast of Beacon Hills."

Stiles

"Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) is deep in the mystery of trying to figure out who the Beast is and trying to figure out whether they can save this teenager or not," says Davis. "But he is also coming under the eye of the Desert Wolf, Malia's mother, who believes that she can threaten Malia with Stiles' life knowing just how close they still are."

Kira

"Kira (Arden Cho) is still dealing with the volatility of the fox spirit within her," says Davis. "She desperately wants to help her friends, but doesn't know how to do it without her sword and without her power. And we're going to find her at a crisis moment where she doesn't know what to do and has to decide the right path."

Malia

"Malia (Shelley Hennig) is faced with the problem of her mother, the Desert Wolf, who wants to kill her and retake the power she believes was stolen from her when she gave birth to Malia," says Davis. "Malia also has to contend with the fact that her mother essentially killed her adopted family which, to Malia, was her real family. So there's going to be a bit of a struggle for Malia in that respect."

Holland Roden in Teen Wolf (2011)

Lydia

"Lydia (Holland Roden), now out of Eichen house is finding herself dealing with the problem of Parrish and trying to lure him back into the fight when he realizes he could be just as dangerous as the Beast," says Davis. "Lydia has a role to play in the larger story, but she's also got a lot of feelings that have to be buried about her relationship to Scott, Stiles, and the rest of the pack. There's certain things we leave for the beginning of Season 6, and a lot of Lydia's emotional story comes to a head in the final episode and leads into the Season 6."

Dylan Sprayberry in Teen Wolf (2011)

Liam

"Liam (Dylan Sprayberry) is essentially wanting to prove himself all the time, and that's why in the last episode, he goes running off the field and does that sort of Superman leap to fight the Beast in the air," teases Davis. "But he's still young. He's still not as powerful as he wants to be. He's going to have to face some very difficult choices in the finale."

Deputy Parrish

"Parrish (Ryan Kelley) has got to choose whether to abide by the supernatural force that's controlling him or to try to carve his own path," says Davis. "And he's kind of got to do both. So he's got to use the power within him. Jordan Parrish essentially died when the Hell Hound was born. So is he really alive or is he dead? We don't know yet."
