Carrie Coon at an event for The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards (2017)

Emmy nominee Carrie Coon will appear in Avengers: Infinity War as the villain Proxima Midnight, a member of Thanos' Black Order. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo teased her inclusion in the cast in an April interview with the Radio Times.

Hot on the heels of his breakout role in A Quiet Place, Noah Jupe has been added to the cast of the upcoming movie Honey Boy. Jupe will play a child star, the younger version of Lucas Hedges' character who is at times at odds with his father, played by Shia LaBeouf.

Stana Katic

Stana Katic ("Absentia," "Castle") has been added to the cast of a WWII spy thriller with the tentative title Miss Atkins' Army. Katic will play the title character, Vera Atkins, a real-life British spymaster who is said to have inspired the Miss Moneypenny character in the James Bond universe.

Dylan O'Brien

Dylan O'Brien reportedly will play the title character in Marceau, the story of mime Marcel Marceau and his role in the French Resistance. Mark Strong has been attached the project, as well.

With Jessica Chastain already reportedly on board to play Beverly Marsh in It: Chapter Two, the all-grown-up version of the Losers Club is continuing to take shape. James McAvoy has been in talks to play the adult version of Jaeden Lieberher's Bill Denbrough, with Bill Hader in talks to play Richie Tozier. Finn Wolfhard, young Richie in It, had told Entertainment Weekly in the past that Hader would be his ideal choice for the role.

Joe Manganiello in Justice League (2017)

Spoiler ahead: Following up on his surprise appearance in the post-credits scene in Justice League, Joe Manganiello will reprise his role as Deathstroke in the forthcoming Justice League Part Two. Additionally, we've learned that Jesse Eisenberg will again appear as Lex Luthor. If that post-credits scene in the first movie is any indication, we could be seeing lots of on-screen supervillain collaboration between these two.

Scarlett Johansson will star in Jojo Rabbit, directed by Taika Waititi. The film, featuring Waititi as an imaginary version of Adolf Hitler, follows a 10-year-old boy who is desperate to join the dictator's ranks during World War II. The imaginary Hitler in the film will be the invention of a boy who misses his dad and, confused by Nazi propaganda, imagines a figure who is a combination of his father and the führer.

Abbie Cornish at an event for The 75th Golden Globe Awards (2018)

Abbie Cornish will star in Paris Song, the directorial feature debut of photographer Jeff Vespa. Based on a true story, the film follows a small-town Kazakh singer, Amre Kashaubayev, as he journeys to Paris to compete in an international singing competition at the 1925 Paris Expo.

Actor Lewis Tan

Iron Fist's Lewis Tan has officially joined the cast of Deadpool 2. His character hasn't been revealed, but when fans spotted Shatterstar in the first official trailer, there has been lots of chatter that Tan would portray this new character who is closely linked to Josh Brolin's Cable character in the comics. Shatterstar is a deadly warrior who was trained in martial arts in another dimension. His main weapon is a double-bladed sword that can be charged to send devastating shockwaves. Shatterstar is also expected to appear in the Drew Goddard's Deadpool spinoff X-Force.

Andrea Riseborough at an event for Mandy (2018)

Andrea Riseborough and Demian Bichir will star in Sony’s new take on the horror classic The Grudge. Nicolas Pesce is on board to direct from his own script. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce for Ghost House, with Nathan Kahane and Erin Westerman executive producing for Good Universe alongside Schuyler Weiss, Roy Lee, and Doug Davison. The pic has been scheduled to begin shooting in May.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart will portray actress Jean Seberg in Against All Enemies, the independent political thriller directed by Benedict Andrews. The films centers on attempts by the FBI to discredit actress Jean Seberg through its Cointelpro program in retaliation for her support of the Black Panther Party. The cast also includes Anthony Mackie as a civil-rights activist and Jack O’Connell as an FBI agent assigned to monitor the actress.

Charlie Hunnam and Michael Noer

Charlie Hunnam has officially joined the cast of the Untitled J.C. Candor Project, previously titled Triple Frontier. Written by Mark Boal, this action-adventure story is set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck were previously attached to the project, but dropped out last year.

James Purefoy

James Purefoy has joined the cast of Limbo directed by indie filmmaker Mark Young. The plot outline finds a murderer on trial in Hell, caught between a bitter prosecutor and an inexperienced defense attorney.

Dev Patel is set to star in a retelling of Charles Dickens’ "The Personal History of David Copperfield," written and directed by "Veep" creator Armando Iannucci. The film will be a modern take on Dickens’ title character as he navigates a chaotic world to find his elusive place within it.

Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender and David Sandberg are set to star in action-comedy Kung Fury, which Sandberg will direct and produce under his Laser Unicorns' banner. David Hasselhoff is also joining the cast following his role in Sandberg’s original short film of the same name.

Amber Heard

Amber Heard will star in Run Away With Me, a romantic thriller directed by Fred Grivois. Written by Matthew Ian Cirulnick, the story features two star-crossed lovers escaping the dark criminal underbelly of the European modeling industry.

Odessa Young

Odessa Young has joined the cast of Sam Taylor-Johnson’s A Million Little Pieces, along with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Charlie Hunnam, and Giovanni Ribisi. The story follows a young man who awakens on an airplane to Chicago with no recollection of his injuries or of how he ended up on the plane. He then heads to a rehab and begins his journey to sobriety. Young will play Lilly, a crack and heroin addict who falls in love with the man.

Emily Blunt at an event for The Oscars (2016)

Emily Blunt will star opposite Dwayne Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise. Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the film based on the Disney World ride, which takes guests on a tour of the rivers of the world.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks is set to star the iconic television personality Fred Rogers in the upcoming biopic You Are My Friend. The film was written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster and will be directed by Marielle Heller (Diary of a Teenage Girl).

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman will star opposite Jude Law in Vox Lux, a drama/musical written and directed by Brady Corbet. Rooney Mara had originally been attached to the film but dropped out of the production.

Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer will reunite for an untitled holiday comedy for Universal. Chastain and Kelly Carmichael wrote the original treatment and Peter Chiarelli will write the script, which centers on two women who hope to make it home for Christmas.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead will star opposite Will Smith in director Ang Lee's Gemini Man. This film project, which has been in development for 20 years, follows an over-the-hill assassin who faces off against himself, a clone who is younger and in his prime.

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in Miss Sarajevo, the film adaptation of Bill Carter's memoir "Fools Rush In: A True Story of War and Redemption." The film follows an aid worker as he recounts his experiences of living in Sarajevo during the Balkans War.

Ashleigh Cummings

Ashleigh Cummings has landed the role of Pippa in Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios’ adaptation of The Goldfinch. Ansel Elgort is set to star as Theo, with Aneurin Barnard playing Boris, and Willa Fitzgerald portraying Kitsey.

Jennifer Lawrence at an event for Mother! (2017)

Jennifer Lawrence is set to star and produce Burial Rites, the true-crime drama directed by Luca Guadagnino. The film draws on Hannah Kent’s 2013 novel of the same name, and centers on Agnes Magnusdottir (Lawrence), the last woman to be publicly executed in Iceland in 1830. Agnes was sentenced to death for killing two men and setting fire to their home.
