Fresh off his Oscar Best Actor win, Gary Oldman is set to join Maze Runner: The Death Cure star Dylan O'Brien in The Bayou, directed by Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury). The movie centers on a young man choosing between his alliance with the head honcho of a crime syndicate and his budding relationship with a 15-year-old girl that the syndicate has enslaved.

Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie are the latest cast additions to The Personal History of David Copperfield, Armando Iannucci's (The Death of Stalin, "Veep") adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Dev Patel had signed on earlier to take on the title role.

The big-screen adaptation of the video game "The Division" has drawn Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain in the starring roles. The two will fight against various forces after a plague rips apart the U.S. on Black Friday, thanks to a smallpox variant added to cash bills. The Division would be Gyllenhaal's first video-game adaptation movie since Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. David Leitch (Deadpool 2) directs.

Colin Firth will play Lord Archibald Craven, whose yard is home to a hidden world of wonder, in the latest retelling of the children's book The Secret Garden. Dixie Egerickx and Edan Hayhurst play the kids who discover said secret garden. This is Firth's second take on the title, having played one of the youths in a 1987 TV adaptation.

Laika's previous animated features include Kubo and the Two Strings and Coraline. Jackman also reportedly is tied to Bad Education, a 2016 Blacklist script focusing on the largest public-school embezzlement case in U.S. history.

James McAvoy has been in talks to play the adult version of Jaeden Lieberher's Bill Denbrough, with Bill Hader in talks to play Richie Tozier. Finn Wolfhard, young Richie in It, had told Entertainment Weekly in the past that Hader would be his ideal choice for the role.

Iron Fist's Lewis Tan has officially joined the cast of Deadpool 2. His character hasn't been revealed, but when fans spotted Shatterstar in the first official trailer, there has been chatter that Tan would portray this new character, who is closely linked to Josh Brolin's Cable character in the comics. Shatterstar is a deadly warrior who was trained in martial arts in another dimension. His main weapon is a double-bladed sword that can be charged to send devastating shockwaves. Shatterstar is also expected to appear in the Drew Goddard's Deadpool spinoff X-Force.

Written by Mark Boal, this action-adventure story is set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Ben Affleck and Casey Affleck were previously attached to the project but dropped out in 2017.

Odessa Young has joined the cast of Sam Taylor-Johnson’s A Million Little Pieces, along with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Charlie Hunnam, and Giovanni Ribisi. The story follows a young man who awakens on an airplane to Chicago with no recollection of his injuries or of how he ended up on the plane. He then heads to a rehab and begins his journey to sobriety. Young will play Lilly, a crack and heroin addict who falls in love with the man.
