His thoughts were like the flames of fire and acts were deadly blasts. The forgotten hero return back from the darkness, created by selfish politics to the silver screen as the daring and dynamic protagonist of all time created by writer, director, actor Aazaad. The nationalistic flavour - colour - nature combination of the movie is a continuation of what he has been portraying in his earlier movies. While his earlier movies had element of nationalism, Rashtraputra showcased the reality, the lesser known facts of the greatest revolutionary, Chandrashekhar Azad. Azad was not only the commander - in - chief of Hindustan Socialist Republican Army (HSRA) but an unmatched mentor, friend - philosopher - guide of over two thousand and five hundred revolutionaries of HSRA like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev Thapar, Bhagwaticharan Vohra, Durga Bhabhi, Batukeshwar Dutt, Madanlal Dhingra, etc. In the true sense of meaning Chandrashekhar Azad was the supreme force of the bloodstained revolutionary freedom movement of India. In this film Rashtraputra we have shown that Azad is a timeless cinematic creation. He was, He is and he will be the relevant hero of all time. Time changes but the problems remain the same in different looks. What would Azad do, how he would react if he was alive today? He would be the same motivational force for today's youth as he was in his lifetime. Rashtraputra described as a great motivational movie with high voltage drama and entertainment values for the youth as well as the enlightened audience of twenty first century. Movie Rashtraputra is based on life and thoughts of Chandrashekhar Azad and also a tribute to all those forgotten heroes of freedom movement and to all those revolutionaries who didn't earned the fame they deserved viz. Mangal Pandey (Indian rebellion of 1857), Balwant Vasudev Phadke (Indian independence activist), Krantiveer Lahuji Raghoji Salve, Khudiram Bose (Bengali-Indian revolutionary), Rani Lakshmi Bai (Indian Rebellion of 1857), Chapekar Brothers (Assassination of W. C. Rand), Rash Behari Bose (Indian Independence Movement, Ghadar Revolution, Indian National Army, Jugantar), Aurobindo Ghosh (Alipore Bomb Case), Barindra Kumar Ghosh (Alipore Bomb Case, Jugantar), Jatindra Nath Das (Lahore Conspiracy Case), Bagha Jatin alias Jatin Das Mukherjee (German Plot during World War I), Ullaskar Dutta (Alipore Bomb Case), Hemu Kalani (Mahatma Gandhi's Quit India movement), Udham Singh (Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar), Subhash Chandra Bose (the Commander in Chief and founder of Azad Hind Fauj) and many more. And also tribute to the activists of Kakori Conspiracy and closest associates of greatest revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad (The prime activists of Kakori Conspiracy) viz. Ramprasad Bismil, Ashafakulla Khan, Roshan Singh, Faninder Nath Ghosh, Jogesh Chandra Chatterjee, Keshab Chakravarty, Murari Lal Gupta (fake name of Murari Lal Khanna), Mukundi Lal (Mukundi Lal Gupta), Banwari Lal, Rajendra Lahiri, Manmath Nath Gupt and Sachindra Bakshi. A time where two groups ( Garam Dal and Naram Dal) had waged a war against Britishers with different set of ideologies. It was under the leadership of Gandhi ji that Naram Dal took on the Britishers and led a peaceful march towards independence. Lal Bahadur Shastri was a prominent personality in this group and has a huge role to play in the history of India's independence. However this dynamic leader had his own story to deal with during the initial phase of his life. A low economic background, untimely death of his father and a mother to look after...these were just some of the problems that gave Lal Bahadur Shashtri a direction in life. After completing his studies in Banaras, Shashtri ji came to Allahabad and that's when he witnessed a revolution in the country. Inspired to take part in the freedom fight, Lal Bahadur Shashtri now became an active freedom fighter and was sent to jail several times. But Lal Bahadur Shashtri's fight didn't end with achieving freedom for his motherland, it got extended to his role as India's prime minister too. - The Kumbh Mela is the "Festival of the Urn" that pours out the nectar of immortality to Humanity. It is a great roving festival that has moved around India for more than four thousand years, erecting temporary cities along the Ganges River. Millions of Hindu faithful gather there to wash away their sins in the holy waters. The 2001 Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, India was the largest gathering of humanity in recorded history. It was not just the final Kumbh Mela in a 12-year cycle of festivals. It was the final festival of 12 cycles - the conclusion of a giant 144-year cycle, making it "Maha" Kumbh Mela, the Great Festival. This 144-year buildup of spiritual meaning made it a powerfully auspicious time for pilgrims to bathe in the Ganges. Even the planets and stars joined in, providing heavenly alignments not seen for 144 years. Here, East joined West at the opening of the 21st Century. Roughly 70 million people came from all over the globe to pray for peace and rebirth for self and the world, truly a meeting of ancient and future in a remarkable moment.
- Take Me To The River is a documentary film of the Maha Kumbh Mela, a Hindu festival and pilgrimage which was the largest gathering in the history of the world. The film documents the event by immersing you in the midst of the celebration. Experience a roller coaster of emotions as obscurity and clarity flow across the crowded and dusty flood plain of Ganges and Yamuna Rivers. Through misty dawns, crowded streets, peaceful moments and chaotic sprints to the river, you'll journey into the Sangam, the physical and spiritual heart of the "Mela (festival)" where sins are cleansed, bathers can escape infinite karmic cycles and world peace is possible. You'll meet Swamis from the largest and most prestigious Hindu holy orders, ascetic naga babas, boatmen, policemen and pilgrims. While interviews provide a narrative backbone for the film, Take Me To The River offers more than an analytical portrait of the Kumbh Mela. Shot in Super 16mm film with music recorded exclusively at the festival, the blatant premises and subtle nuances of the Maha Kumbh Mela come alive with a striking visual intensity. While uncovering the Mela's historical origins, examining the importance of ritual and searching for personal redemption, "Take Me To The River" ultimately conveys the essence of the Mela experience.
