Gaffes

When Eli goes into the building after moving the planks in the fence, you see the wall of the building shake.

In the scene where Eli climbs through the hole in the wall of the factory, the outside of the wall is supposed to be brick, yet after he climbs through the panel of wall it is clearly slatted planks.

When Samantha, the adoption agency worker, sees Eli in the dark hallway, she immediately runs into her office. She goes to her desk lamp to turn it on but instead of the lamp, the ceiling light comes on.

When the boys are playing basketball at the high school, Maria and Joshua sit against the wall by the basketball court. Behind them is a view of the city's skyline, and there are palm trees visible in the distance, in spite of the fact that the film is set in Chicago.

Amanda loses her shoes before she runs back inside and slips on the pole. Despite having just run through dirt, her socks remain white and not at all dirty.

When Malcom and Joshua pull up to school in the blue Mustang, the crew is reflected in the car window.

On the drive from Chicago to Gatlin mountains can be seen. There are no mountains between Chicago and Nebraska.

The drive from Chicago to Nebraska would not have been possible to make in one night.
