Throughout, they refer back to an earlier case (Minimal Loss (2008)), where the BAU is in charge of a hostage situation at Liberty Ranch, a religious cult, led by Benjamin Cyrus (Luke Perry). The team reports that Cyrus was not born at Liberty Ranch, however in the original case, Cyrus's predecessor testifies that Cyrus was in fact born at the ranch and lived there into his teens before being asked to leave after sexually harassing the younger female members. He returned years later and overtook the ranch after threatening the life of Kane.
When Spencer is shown, the box containing 299 hyoid bones, they are pure white, almost plastic looking. They look totally different than the 7 hyoid bones that were found in Believer, which looked weathered and more brownish as would be expected for a bone that was kept over several years. If these were recreations made from a mold of the originals, there would have been no need to recover those 7 bones from the FBI when the messiah was sprung from captivity.
When the 500-mile radius map is shown, it is centered on Norfolk, VA, not Quantico, some 125 miles northwest. The map showing a supposed 500-mile radius is actually much larger than that.
