In the grim early years of Margaret Thatcher's premiership, also the crown years of hooliganism, the opportunities for thrill-seeking young men are what they've always been: sex, drugs, rock n' roll, fashion, football and fighting.

A seventeen year old girl growing up in the zoo her family operates, focuses on her love of ballet and animals. Her parents are forced to sell Sheba the elephant to a traveling circus in order to afford the tuition for her ballet school. When Sophie discovers this she abandons her dreams of becoming a dancer in order to get Sheba back. When she falls in love with Blake, a circus artist, they both struggle to rescue Sheba.

Dagen and Kenny are two best friends in their early thirties living in New York who are looking for love in all the wrong places. One of them finds his dream girl, who just happens to be the daughter of the biggest mobster in town, and the other friend swindles her mob boss Dad out of a million dollars.

There he unintentionally provokes the wrath of a mysterious motorcyclist. The confrontation between the two, sets in motion a day long battle. Beginning in the form of harmless taunts then quickly escalating into something more serious and then into something unimaginable.
