On 7 August 1935 an Italian aircraft S 81, left Rome and directed in Asmara, fell in flames near Cairo. In the accident, died Luigi Razza, Minister of Public Works and the explorer Raimondo Franchetti.

Carlo Volontè, Born in 1921, talks about his experience of war in Africa. Volontè enlisted in 1940, after the training procedure was assigned to the Division Aries and sent to Africa, where he fought as a radio operator, with tanks 75/18. After the battle of El Alamein, he was captured in Tunis. He returned home in 1946.

After the war, almost by chance, Alfonso Sansone starts to produce documentary films and moves from Palermo to Rome, the city of film.
