- The Sisters is an adaptation of the first short story in James Joyce's collected works, Dubliners. Set in 1915 Ireland, it tells the story of a young boy, who reflects upon his time with friend and mentor, Father Flynn, while coming to terms with the Priest's death. As he listens to the conversations of the adults around him and thinks back on his own time with the Father, the boy begins to come to a new understanding about his friend and possibly about himself, as he is confronted with questions of faith, loss and new beginnings.
- Valerie and Kelly reluctantly join forces to attempt to break up Valerie's mother, Abby, and Kelly's father, Bill, after they announce their engagement at Valerie's birthday party. Brandon interviews for a job at a major daily newspaper and is hired on the spot, but he discovers there's a catch: Brandon must fill in as a scab for other agency reporters going on strike. Meanwhile, at the Beverly Beat, Janet begins to complain to Steve about being overworked and underpaid. Steve sets off in search of Jill's real penpal, Ted, to introduce them to try to mend the hostile situation he started. Noah goes too far in helping Donna with her work, bribing a local fashion company to set the stage for her designs and purchases.
- The loss of a client's business puts Matt in financial straits because of the engagement ring he bough for Kelly which was paid for with the retainer. Gina tries to help Matt by asking Dylan for the $15,000 Matt owes, but Matt refuses the money because of his own pride and reliance, while he begins lying to Kelly about his financial problems. Meanwhile, Dylan grows uncomfortable about God-parenting to Kelly because of her engagement. David and others benefit from a man's crush on Donna whom she asks out on a date that flops. Also, Noah attempts to fight his loss over breaking up with Donna by hanging out with a pair of wild and crazy swingers, named Josie and her brother Shane, that come to the After Dark every night.
- Greg tries to make Gary aware of the importance of Empire Valley without telling him any details but says that he has to agree to let things continue in the direction they have been going or sell the land. Gary refuses. John Coblenz finally fills Gary in and gets him to agree to the associates demands. Joshua and Cathy get married. Karen finally catches up with Dr. Ackerman.
- Amanda hires Ted Ramsey, a charming young man as the building maintenance person. But when Amanda discovers Ted snooping around her bedroom, she fires him. Meanwhile, Alison starts having nightmares of being abused as a child and starts seeing a psychologist without telling Billy. Amanda intervenes in Jane and Michael's fight over her inheritance money and makes a deal with them: Michael will be an investor in Jane's newly opened clothing business in order for her to keep her grandmother's money. Also, Sydney hears that Lauren Etheridge got arrested and arranges to take over her prostitution business.
- Sam, Bailey and John must find a twisted assassin before he kills a celebrated political candidate. The clues lead them to a famous pop singer, named Morrisa, whom is also targeted by the stalker. But Sam is distracted by new evidence that could locate her own murderous stalker, "Jack-of-All-Trades." Relying on audio clues from a recording that he leaves, the hopeful FBI agents zero in on a Baltimore church which they believe to be Jack's lair, only to find the place cleaned out and a message from Jack saying he will be coming after Sam.
