Tane, Cash and the others continue to wait anxiously for Felicity. Eden discovers the brakes have failed and swerves out in front of Justin and Leah, causing both cars to crash. Leah is impaled on a metal bar, Eden is knocked unconscious and Felicity is trapped inside the vehicle. Tane is just calling the wedding off when Rose calls about the crash and Tane, Cash and Gary head down there. John takes Nikau home while Mackenzie goes to the hospital. Leah is rushed to surgery while Eden has to be resuscitated. Cash blames Justin for the brakes failing, unaware Lloyd is watching him. Felicity tries to get out of the vehicle and ignites petrol around it.

It is the condiment with the funny name which has the singular job of adding zing to roast beef. Horseradish might well be a dark horse in the vegetable industry but there can't be too many vegies that can fetch upwards of $50,000 a tonne, once they have been minced up and put into jars.

Cash continues his search for Eden and calls in the SES, with a search team led by Sabrina Taylor arriving. Felicity and Tane join him. Cash spots the tracks and hole but Sabrina dismisses it. Wes and Mickey attempt to dispose of Remi's body only to find him still alive. Eden convinces them he isn't a threat to them and places her bracelet in his pocket. Mickey dumps him by the roadside and calls an ambulance. Cash hears he's been found and Felicity sends him back to town. Bree and Dana are shocked when he's brought in.

Cash meets Rose at the hospital while Levi takes over treating Remi and overrules Bree by operating on a cardiac tamponade in the ED. Remi comes through surgery but is left in a critical condition. Cash notices Eden's bracelet among Remi's belongings. He and Rose check out where Remi was found and Rose finds the vehicle that dropped him off on local CCTV. Wes and Mickey are preparing to kill Eden when Cash and Rose arrive and arrest them. Mali tells Mackenzie about the fundraiser and she is shocked when Levi gives her permission to leave hospital for a few hours to attend. Bree and Eden both blame Levi for Remi's condition. Eden later collapses at home.

Xander tells John, Justin and Theo he needs to replace Lyrik as entertainment and Bree as speaker. John convinces him to ask Levi. Rose tells Levi the full story of what happened and he goes to check on Eden but she gives him short shrift. Later, Cash invites him back over and the siblings clear the air. Next morning, Theo wonders if he and Kirby could perform. Mackenzie tells Levi and Xander she's not going, explaining to Levi that she only feels safe in hospital.

Theo convinces Kirby they should play at the fundraiser. Levi manages to wear Mackenzie down and get her to the event, where she is touched by everyone's reaction and he makes a speech highlighting the importance of saving people like her. When he takes her back to the hospital, she kisses him. Justin is upset to hear Marilyn and Leah have exchanged letters. Alf convinces him to write to her too. Tane and Felicity share a moment before the event but she is upset to see him having a good time with Harper. He later tells her he's not okay.

Theo, Xander, Kirby and Harper do a debrief on the fundraiser. Tane tells Felicity they still can't be together and she ends up snapping at Harper. They later admit they want different things from life. Justin asks Marilyn to send the letter to Leah but she and Alf tell him he'll have to accept the doctors' decision. Kirby joins Bree spending the night at Remi's bedside. He wakes up next morning but is in considerable pain. Bree is annoyed to be told Levi has ordered him moved out of intensive care. Harper has a training session with Tane but is shocked when he kisses her, telling him they need distance.

Levi is unable to change Imogen's visit and clues in Mackenzie. Levi, Imogen and Eden have dinner with Salt and Levi avoids being intimate with Imogen in the motel room afterwards. Harper and Rose share the news of Maia's foster placement with Roo and Tane. Tane initially tries to get the details but later apologises. Mackenzie runs into Imogen and Eden next morning and invites them up to Salt.

Cash and Eden see Tane and Harper having an intense conversation. Harper confides in first Cash and then Dana. After a chat with Cash, Tane gives Harper the details of another personal trainer and offers to refund her gym membership. Marilyn tells Alf that Leah wants to stay with them without Justin knowing. Alf tells Justin and Theo but asks them to stay away.Eden visits Remi. Levi insists there are no post-op complications and it's a pain management issue but also admits there's a risk of infection. Eden takes Levi for dinner where Cash reveals he's been given a date for his suspension review. Bree obviously tries to protect Remi from infection.

Theo gives Kirby an update on Leah. Kirby tries to visit Remi but Bree sends her away. Kirby goes back the next day and Remi is pleased to see her but Bree cuts the visit short and tells Kirby to listen to her in future. Tane and Harper decide to be friends again. Alf tells Leah he let Justin and Theo know she's there and Leah invites Theo over for a visit. Justin asks Alf to give Leah his letter. Leah agrees to see Justin but tells him she doesn't trust herself around him.

Levi has popped by Salt for something to eat before leaving town but Mackenzie summons him back to the hospital to talk to him before her discharge. Justin refuses to accept Leah's decision and she has to call Alf and Marilyn before he leaves. After reading his letter, Leah tells him they can't be together until she's fully recovered. Alf learns the surf club secretary has resigned, meaning they no longer have quorum. Levi follows Mackenzie home, telling someone called Imogen he won't be home. Mali sees them kissing and makes sure Levi leaves, calling it taking advantage. Mackenzie refuses to listen to him.

John runs a bronze medallion class including Dana and Banjo. Dana overhears Alf and John discussing the resignations and Banjo tells her he saw Simon give one of the committee members a wad of cash. Dana tells Roo and they go to Rose, who convince Banjo and three committee members to give her enough information to go after Simon. Mackenzie is keen to avoid more lectures from Mali so invites Felicity and Eden over for a girls' day. Mali accepts he has to let her make her own choices. Felicity is taken aback when Eden suggests she date again.

Xander checks with Kirby about Remi. Kirby resolves to use her latest royalty payment to put Remi's bike back together. Rose calls Simon but he hangs up as soon as she mentions the bribes. Alf later reports he's withdrawn his sponsorship. Roo gets Alf and John to sign her in as new surf club secretary. Felicity finds a customer, Matteo, left her his number but is unable to go through with calling it and accepts she's not ready to move on. Cash hears the results of his review: He's been reinstated but with a demotion and restricted duties. He tells Eden he's resigned.

Leah approaches Theo after he's just been for a surf with Xander and asks about Justin. Rose learns about Cash's resignation and thinks he's made a mistake. She is later offered his rank and he simply congratulates her. She tells Alf Simon has said he just gave committee members "gifts" and there's no way to prove they're bribes. Justin asks Theo to go to the Diner to check on Leah, who asks him to get her some things from the house, until he expresses frustration at being their go-between. Leah goes to see Justin at the garage.

Cash insists on buying Rose a drink to celebrate her promotion. Rose puts him in touch with a friend who moved into security after leaving the force. Leah simply tells Justin they can't rely on Theo. She is visited by Valerie Beaumont, her roommate from the clinic who was in there eight months. Valerie is surprised Leah isn't back with Justin. Alf offers her a caravan for free and Valerie convinces Leah to invite Justin to stay for dinner with them, Alf and Marilyn. Bree continues to be awkward about Eden and Kirby visiting Remi. Kirby learns Bree's father is on life support with major head injuries after an accident at a building site and encourages her to go to her family, but Bree tells Remi she isn't going anywhere.

Felicity and Tane have an awkward meeting on his return to town. Kirby tells Remi about Bree's father and he convinces her to go and see him. Marilyn talks with Alf about getting Leah and Justin back together but he feels they should stay out of it and also worries about the $30,000 shortfall at the surf club. Alf is unhappy to see an advertisement asking for donations to the surf club. Felicity overhears Harper and Dana discussing Harper's kiss with Tane. Tane goes round to talk to her about it and they end up heading to the bedroom.

Mali gives Mackenzie a lift back from rehab. Levi comes to see her and they go back to hers but he abruptly leaves when they're about to sleep together. Tane is awkward with Felicity after their hook-up and eventually tells her it's a mistake and he's going to New Zealand. Alf and John aren't happy that Roo wants to put the rent up but Tane, Felicity and Mali all agree to it. Roo wants to tell the papers about Henderson, then hears there's been an anonymous donation of $30,000. Levi goes round to see Mackenzie next morning and tells her he's married.

John chats to Justin and Theo after a surf. Justin goes to the Diner in the hope of seeing Leah and ends up being too late to help Theo with his assignment. Roo wants to find out who gave them the donation but Alf and John are happy to accept it and cancel the rent increases. Alf leaves to see Martha and Roo tells John they're not going to spend the money. Dana is guilty to learn Banjo has quit the class while Harper is concerned about Tane leaving. Mackenzie throws Levi out and confides in Mali. She suggests to Levi they need to get each other out of their systems and they sleep together. While they're in bed, Levi gets a call from his wife Imogen.

Roo and John continue to argue about the donation. Irene suggests taking it to the committee who vote in John's favour but Roo remains determined to find out more. Rose's new job gets in the way of her spending time with Mali. Felicity decides to focus on Salt and asks Xander to come up with new ideas to bring people in. Levi asks Mackenzie to continue their affair but she refuses and says goodbye, later breaking down with Mali.

Cash and Harper meet up and he tells her about leaving the police. They chat with John about the surf club windfall. Mackenzie confides in Mali about sleeping with Levi. Rose is frustrated at Mali focusing on Mackenzie and also when Roo tries to get her to look into the donation. Cash offers to look into it instead. Irene chides Justin for hanging around the Diner hoping to see Leah so he goes to her house instead.

Justin receives a cool reception when Leah, Marilyn and Valerie arrive home. Valerie later goes to see him and tells him not to give up on Leah. Felicity and Dana find out about Cash's investigation and Dana gives him information on the Hendersons but finds herself cut out of further investigation. Xander asks her advice on attracting the young crowd to Salt. Felicity tells Cash about sleeping with Tane. Valerie accompanies Leah to a meal with Justin and Theo. Afterwards, she and Theo go for a drink where she reveals she's from the Gold Coast and left college after a death in the family. Justin walks Leah home but she quickly retreats when he tries to kiss her.

Theo runs into Valerie next morning and also gets an update from Kirby about Remi. Valerie advises Leah to see Justin and she kisses him and tells him she wants to move forward slowly. Valerie tells Theo her brother died in a car crash after she distracted him when he collected her drunk and her parents won't talk to her. Eden brings Remi home but Kirby is unhappy that they're expected to lie to Bree about him being out of hospital. Remi is in pain and being sick so Eden ends up calling Levi for help.

Xander runs into Dana who offers to brainstorm ideas again. Harper is feeling down after learning her ex-fiance Tony has a baby: She left him at the altar after he forced her to choose between her and Dana. Xander and Dana come up with the idea of a romantic night and getting Theo and Kirby to play. Levi goes to see Remi and determines he just needs food and sleep. Eden and Remi are asked for victim impact statements. Irene tells Marilyn that Leah is coming back to work. Eden accompanies Levi to Salt even though he's arranged a meeting with Mackenzie. He and Mackenzie later go to a motel room where he ignores a call from Imogen.

Roo checks in with Cash on his investigation. John tries to call it off, especially when Roo reveals she's paying him with surf club funds. After an intervention from Irene, Roo agrees to pay Cash with her own money and John agrees not to spend the money on expensive walkie-talkies. Eden reveals she wants to use her victim impact statement to say Mickey was dragged into it, leaving Cash, Remi and Felicity aghast. Cash gets a mysterious phone call. Mackenzie hides in the bathroom when Eden comes to see Levi to ask his advice and Levi later confides in her about how they became estranged. Remi tells Eden he's going to submit his own victim impact statement saying how much the brothers hurt him.
