The lyrics see her promise "When trouble wrecks your heart, and the world's gone dark, and your soul is black and blue / Baby, I'll be brave for you". Although the single is new, this isn't actually the first time fans have heard 'Brave' as Ella first debuted the song during her sold-out show at London's Hoxton Hall in November 2019. She performed it for a second time during her Billboard Live At-Home concert in April 2020, where she spoke about why it was important to her. "Originally, we wrote this song when I was in a place where I still needed to build my self-confidence again, and I guess this song right now kind of resonated with me even more during this, and I think with what's going on in the world right now." With the release comes the exciting news that the song will feature on Ella's upcoming second album. Titled Everything I Didn't Say, the record has 16 tracks and will be out on 11th March 2022.
