This 12-minute documentary offers a pretty enjoyable and informative behind-the-scenes peak at the making of the fun creature feature "Larva." Director Tim Cox notes that although he took the premise seriously, he nonetheless allowed for humor in the movie just as long as it wasn't taken too far. David Selby admits he was excited to play a bad guy and points out how the fact that Fletcher is a loving family man prevents him from being a one-dimensional heavy. Vincent Ventresca likewise admits that he took his part seriously and talks about how local guys tried to hit on Rachel Hunter, who proved to be really cool and down to earth. Moreover, we also find out that the story was inspired by reports of mad cow disease, how the movie pays homages to films from the 1950's and 1970's, the building and sculpting of the monsters, the special f/x were done with a mixture of CGI and practical puppets, and that the morgue location was real. Loaded with choice clips and behind the scenes footage as well as even sketches and storyboards, it's worth a watch for fans of the film.
