Near the end of the Imagine Entertainment logo, snow begins to fall, the snow continues to fall even after the words "Imagine Entertainment" fade away.
The superimposed opening credits is colored red and green, to both represent The Grinch & his heart and the main colors of Christmas.
In the extended-for-TV version:
- The dedication is seen after the fade at "The End", rather than waiting for a moment after "Where Are You, Christmas?" begins prior to the closing credits in the theatrical version.
- Additionally, the gap between the AHA's Film & TV unit credit and the Panavision logo at the ending is extended to include the following credit not shown in the theatrical version: "The Animated Television Program 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas', Licensed by Agreement with Turner Entertainment Co. and Warner Home Video Inc."
Two different versions of the opening credits exists:
- The original theatrical release has "The Grinch" as the title in green, and Dr. Seuss' credit refers as "Based on the Book 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' by".
- The more common, subsequent 2001 home video version has the expanded consumer-friendly title "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and Seuss' credit simply refers as "Based on the Book by".
