Now that November is in full swing, we have a brand new batch of Blu-ray and DVD releases to look forward to this week. Scream Factory is keeping busy with the releases of both Darkman II and III, as well as co-presenting Killing Ground and Darkness Rising alongside IFC Midnight.
As far as other new titles are concerned, there’s a bunch coming our way on Tuesday, including Ghastlies, The Limehouse Golem, Dead Still, Mother Krampus, Demon Hole, and Westworld Season 1. And for you cult film fanatics, both Satan’s Cheerleaders and John Landis’ thriller Into the Night are both making their way to Blu, too.
Other November 7th releases include Beneath, The Nightmare, The Untamed, and The Tormenting.

I write an article at Movies.com called Film Face-off, where I take two things, and they battle it out. The things could be actors, movies, characters, just about anything. Here is the first one. Give it some love, comments, tweets, Facebook affection.
Film Face-off: ‘Iron Man 3′ vs. ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ – Which Is the Better Part 3?
With Iron Man 3 now in theaters it’s a chance for us to look back at all of the superhero part threes that have come before it. Here’s the list: Superman III, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Batman Forever, Blade: Trinity, X-Men: The Last Stand, Spider-Man 3 and The Dark Knight Rises. Sure there are some straight-to-dvd sequels, but I don’t think we need to bring up the likes of Darkman III: Die Darkman Die here.
Now this is a list of all of the really good superhero part threes: The Dark Knight Rises.

Now this is a list of all of the really good superhero part threes: The Dark Knight Rises. That's it, that's the list... until now. Yes, as the late, great Yoda always foretold, there is another. With the help of director Shane Black, Robert Downey Jr. and even Gwyneth Paltrow, Iron Man 3 is worth seeing, now let's see how it stacks up against The...

Our second stab at the Oscars contains make-up effects and score (read part 1 here). The make-up effects, followed by the visual effects and technical awards, remain my favorite parts of the show; here you got to see your heroes: Rick Baker, Howard Berger, Chris Walas or Rob Bottin in the audience. Even the great Stan Winston could have been out there, back in the day. Though best known for his “visual effects” wins—he brought home an Oscar for best make-up in 1991 for Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Here genre fans can rejoice, Greg Cannom brought home the gold, again, for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Cannom, a genre elder, worked alongside (just to name a few) Fincher, Coppola, Landis, Dante, Blatty, and Cohen creating all sorts of character and creature make-ups.
