In 2005, a young architect and just a romantic man named Ted Mosby began to search for the mother of his children. There was no doubt that one day he would find her: in 2030, across from the grown-up Mosby, his two children, Penny and Luke, sat on the sofa and prepared to listen to the story of how their parents met.
Throughout the seasons, the writers left clues, and the viewers pieced together the image of the mother like pieces of a puzzle: a guitar, a yellow umbrella, robots.
Ted, TV's main romantic, has been searching for the perfect life partner for a long time. Along the way, the New Yorker has met many women, each of whom has left her mark on his heart.

A sexy comedy featuring man-of-the-moment Glen Powell posing as an undercover hitman, Jessica Alba kicking ass in an all-action revenge tale, the inimitable David Letterman interviewing a new round of guests, the continuing saga of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, the return of a beloved fantasy series and the story of the most iconic franchise in cheerleading are among the standout new additions to Netflix in June.

Netflix’s list of new releases for June 2024 look suspiciously like last month’s.
That’s because the biggest item on the schedule is Bridgerton season 3 once again. The final four episodes of Bridgerton‘s third season will premiere on June 13. Polin fans everywhere, rejoice! Other TV items of note this month include the third and final season of Sweet Tooth (June 6), Worst Roommate Ever season 2 (June 26), and That ’90s Show Part 2 (June 28).
Bridgerton aside, Netflix’s original movie options this month might be even more impressive than the TV slate. Richard Linklater’s Hitman, which stars Glen Powell as the titular assassin, premieres on June 7. That will be followed by documentary Black Barbie on June 19, the Jessica Alba-starring Trigger Warning on June 21, and romcom A Family Affair on June 28
Here’s everything else coming to Netflix this month. Note that Netflix marks its international offerings with that respective country’s two-letter country code.

Nick Pasqual, a background actor in “How I Met Your Mother,” was detained at the U.S. border after being charged with allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn, multiple times, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office confirmed.
On May 23 around 4:30 a.m., Pasqual allegedly broke into Shehorn’s Los Angeles home and stabbed her multiple times. She was then hospitalized with critical injuries. Shehorn’s credits include “Rebel Moon,” “Family Switch” and “Babylon.”
After the attack, Pasqual allegedly fled the scene and was later detained at a U.S./Mexico border check point in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The court issued an $1.07 million arrest warrant for the actor. He will be extradited to Los Angeles County where he will face charges. If he is convicted as charged, the maximum sentence would be life in state prison.

You probably won’t remember the guy, but that says more than enough, eh? Nick Pasqual is an American actor who was, until today, best known for appearing as – basically – an extra in the Season 7 episode of How I Met Your Mother titled “Field Trip” (S07E05), where he interacted with Ted for a brief moment. That’s about it and had he not done what he is now accused of, we probably wouldn’t have heard of him ever again. But they guy supposedly tried to kill his girlfriend and then tried to flee to Mexico before being caught by the authorities in Texas. Great stuff.
We don’t have any personal information about Nick Pasqual, as even his IMDb profile only lists a couple of relevant info, including the works he’s appeared in in secondary or guest roles.

Nowadays, it seems like a quaint notion that a television series might stay on the air long enough to run out of ideas.
But almost fifty years ago, even a successful show like Happy Days wasn't immune to using outlandish stunts to bolster ratings.
And thank goodness for that, or we might all have been deprived of the cultural touchstone that is Fonzie jumping the shark.
Fonzie Jumps the Shark (And Enters History)
The phrase "jump the shark" has become shorthand for the moment when a television show loses its creative way and begins a downward spiral in quality and popularity.
However, when the actual shark jump happened in the "Hollywood: Part 3" episode of the show's fifth season, Happy Days hit number one in the Nielsen ratings.
The series aired for another six well-received seasons and even had successful spinoffs in the sitcoms Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy.

It's hard for fans who remember the original NBC airing of Friends to believe, but "The One Where The Show Turns Thirty" is almost here.
Friends was a ratings juggernaut from its 1994 premiere and ended its ten-year run with the fourth most-watched series finale in television history.
That would have been an impressive note for any show to go out on, but Friends went on to enjoy a charmed (and lucrative) afterlife in syndication for another decade before becoming a recent surprise hit with a whole new generation on Netflix.
So why haven't we seen another sitcom make a similar impact in the past thirty years?
Friends was a reflection of its specific cultural moment, which also laid the foundation for our current comedic landscape, and there hasn't been an equivalent upheaval since.
Friends Is a Victim Of Its Influence

Airing from 2005 to 2014 on CBS, How I Met Your Mother became one of the cultish sitcoms in TV history. It introduced us to five friends, Ted, Barney, Robin, Marshall and Lily, and it was the first one who was looking for love throughout the whole show.
While Neil Patrick Harris and Cobie Smulders, who portrayed Barney and Robin, are staying in the public eye, the Ted Mosby actor, Josh Radnor, is rarely seen on the big screen after 2014. Luckily, there are still some titles starring him we need to check out.
The years after Himym concluded Radnor scored one of the main roles in the period drama Mercy Street (2016 - 2017). Later he was employed as the lead of NBC’s Rise (2018), a musical drama about a teacher on his complicated journey to inspire his students to the art of theater.

Though the sitcom genre had its renaissance back in the 2000s, when people were glued to their screens to watch another episode of Friends or The Office, there are still a few shows that rival them.
From the supernatural comedy Ghosts to the recently completed Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon, there are enough shows to keep everyone entertained. However, if you tend to dislike the newer shows and think the humor is mostly lost these days, Netflix has a great surprise for you. Just watch out for the ending of this series.

10. Jack Shephard from Lost
Sometimes, in an attempt to give a character some personality flaws, writers outdo themselves and turn an initially likable character into an obnoxious one. Lost’s Jack Shephard is a prime example: while he’s supposed to be a hero, what he really is is a frustratingly entitled manchild who just can’t quit whining for the life of him.
9. Rita Bennett from Dexter
For many people, overly dramatic characters have always been a bane of any show they were in, and we totally get it. Dexter is great, but Rita Bennett’s whiny drama queen attitude was a real killjoy for many fans, and some even claim they were glad when Rita was “finally” killed off and they could keep enjoying the show without her.

There will be no second season for High School. Amazon Freevee has canceled the coming-of-age drama based on Tegan and Sara Quin’s bestselling memoir after one season, Deadline has confirmed.
The cancellation is not a big surprise. The series’ last aired its first and only 8-episode season in October 2022.
Produced by Amazon Studios and Plan B Entertainment, High School is a story about finding your own identity—a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimic your own. Told through a backdrop of ‘90s grunge and rave culture, the series weaved between parallel and discordant memories of twin sisters growing up down the hall from one another.

When you think about shows that have gone off the rails, Riverdale, Dexter, Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, or Glee usually come to mind.
The majority of the time, it isn't enjoyable. The digression can make for poor television.
However, there are certain cases where it makes TV gold.
Creating Uniqueness
Keeping an audience interested and on the edge of their seats can be challenging.
We want to be enthralled, but that comes with the fact that doing this means changing plots, characters, or many other factors.
Going off the rails does not always have to be a negative thing.
Community, for example, started as a traditional sitcom, but its ever-evolving nature created a cult classic and a truly entertaining hit that never became stagnant.

Neil Patrick Harris initially gained recognition for starring in Doogie Howser, M.D., a role that defined much of his early career. It wasn’t until the 2004 buddy comedy film Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle that he managed to break free from the character. The film features the actor portraying a fictionalized version of himself.

It received a positive reception, earning over $19 million at the box office, and served as a turning point for Harris, allowing him to shed his Doogie Howser image and paving the way towards the biggest role of his career as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother.

There are some things in the world that you can watch endlessly, and seeing your favorite TV characters finally come together is one of them. We've seen hundreds of love stories on screen, like in How I Met Your Mother, but in this case, Ted Mosby's meeting the mother of his children wasn't the most interesting storyline on the show.
Barney's relationship with Robin developed over the course of the whole series and received much more attention. The unexpected romance was perceived by the couple as entertainment rather than something serious.
Throughout the show, Barney and Robin's feelings for each other wax and wane. Their wedding became a real highlight of the show, although the marriage did not last long. Apparently, even sitcom characters are not guaranteed the "happily ever after."
The "happily ever after" wasn't guaranteed for one of The Young and The Restless couples either, but there's...

The network recently announced that two Big Bang Theory stars will return to help close out Young Sheldon's series finale.
This news promises a fun end to the series that will connect it to its parent series while also opening the door for next fall's Georgie and Mandy spinoff.
Jim Parsons has been narrating Young Sheldon all along, but now he and Mayim Bialik are set to reprise their roles as the adult Sheldon and his wife, Amy.
Could this mean we get an explanation of why Sheldon has been narrating the past seven years' worth of episodes?
Sheldon doesn't have to be talking to anybody except the audience, of course. However, with him and Amy returning, there are two logical possibilities:

As its title implies, How I Met Your Mother is an incredibly long story about the main character, Ted, navigating his way through his young adulthood in search of love. Despite claiming to his kids that he was going to tell the story of meeting their mother, Ted definitely takes his sweet time to get to that part — and by the time he gets there, no one genuinely expects Himym to do it right. And yet, it did.
Himym S8 Nailed the Most Important Thing…
Ted taking eight whole seasons to get to the point where he met the Mother created several problems. For kids, it was that they grew up by that time. For the showrunners, it was that after so many years and seasons, the Mother was so hyped up that delivering a character that would live up to fans’ high expectations was nigh-impossible.
But they did it!

Although many people judge a show based on its premise or cast, it's the finale that will go down in history after the show is over. We have all heard of Game of Thrones or How I Met Your Mother, and while these shows are great and still lauded, their legacies are forever ruined by terrible endings.
The same thing could happen to The Good Doctor, the ABC procedural that will air its final episode on May 21. Though the show had a solid run and every chance to end on a high note, fans believe the writers made a satisfying ending impossible by adding too many new characters at the last minute.
Why Is The Good Doctor So Bad?

Yellowstone star Ian Bohen has some big claims about the Paramount+ series’ final few episodes, despite potentially losing lead star Kevin Costner. The second part of the fifth and final season has yet to begin filming, with Bohen suggesting that filming will start in May. Bohen claimed that he was told the rough outlines of the final episodes. According to Bohen, Yellowstone fans are going to get one of the best finale seasons that could possibly be written.
Yellowstone is expected to have the best conclusion according to its actor
Bohen’s big claims come at a time when the show is riddled with uncertainties and behind-the-scenes issues. Fans were almost expecting a disastrous final season like Game of Thrones or Lost, but the Teen Wolf actor has just raised everyone’s hopes.

[This story contains spoilers from season seven, episode five of 9-1-1, “You Don’t Know Me.”]
A couple of months ago, 9-1-1 co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear reached out to actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. — who had guest-starred in three flashback episodes of the second season — about reprising his role as firefighter Tommy Kinard in the seventh season of the hit Fox-turned-abc first-responder drama.
Ferrigno Jr., who says he had nothing but fond memories of working with the writer and producer years ago, was instantly intrigued to learn that Minear was in the early stages of writing a multi-episode arc that would allow viewers to check back in with Tommy in the present. That storyline, as it turns out, would involve Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark), the ostensibly straight character who would navigate his newfound attraction to Tommy in the landmark 100th episode, which aired last Thursday.

This article contains spoilers for the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" series finale.
There've been plenty of controversial sitcom finales over the years, but few caught quite as much attention as the ending of "Seinfeld" in 1998. Whereas most sitcoms tend to leave their viewers with a warm fuzzy feeling, giving their characters a happy ending and promising better days ahead, "Seinfeld" threw Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer into prison for an entire year. In keeping with the rest of the show, there is no character growth for anyone in the main gang; they spend the finale being the same petty, apathetic people they always were, and they are punished for it.
Since then, the "Seinfeld" finale's long been considered one of the worst sitcom endings of all time. Although "How I Met Your Mother" took some of the heat off it with its own controversial ending, there was still a long cultural...

Today’s Hollywood stars are more “sophisticated” and “aware of the business” than in the days Kyle MacLachlan was starting out, the Sex and the City star said today as he gave his thoughts on another Twin Peaks reboot.
As a budding actor, MacLachlan played the role of Paul Atreides in David Lynch’s 1980s version of Dune and he spotlighted how different the approach is for today’s young stars such as Timothée Chalamet, who plays Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s version, and Chalamet’s co-star Zendaya.
“When I started I was plucked from relative obscurity from Seattle, where they had found me for Dune,” MacLachlan told a packed house at Cannes’ Espace Miramar this afternoon. “I thought I was going to work as a repertory theater actor and then suddenly I was in LA and I was like, ‘What am I doing? In July 2023, near the peak of animosity between scribes and studios during the writers strike, a picket outside ABC’s The View in New York welcomed an ally: Federal Trade Commission chair Lina Khan. Behind closed doors, the writers union had been sharing concerns of a wave of mergers that it said left just a handful of studios like Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Amazon as the lone arbiters of which movies and TV shows are made, what consumers watch and how they can watch it. Flanked by protest signs name-checking Wbd boss David Zaslav to “just give up one yacht” and chants embracing themes of “exploitation,” “concentrated power” and “corporate giants,” Khan delivered a fiery speech that also effectively served as a signal to moguls seeking more mergers and acquisitions.
Since that time, feverish speculation has centered on Shari Redstone relinquishing control of Paramount Global in a megadeal or Warner Bros.
