After ages, it looked like the Star Wars franchise finally found a savior in Leslye Headland’s The Acolyte because it was everything that the franchise was missing. Moreover, Lucasfilm productions were vehemently criticized by fans for creating a new trilogy that ridiculed the original six films, discarding every rule and canonical event that had previously taken place.

Fans were ecstatic over the upcoming TV series as it had an air of mystery and thriller; being a series that is set before the prequel trilogy makes it impossible to overlook any canon event that took place in the franchise. Everything was going smoothly until Charlie Barnett decided to portray himself as a fake fan of the sci-fi franchise, and made a grave blunder regarding Darth Vader.

If there is one fandom that is allowed to have the most trust issues, it is probably Marvel fans. The franchise is known for being especially untrustworthy with the information it gives out. The secrecy surrounding every single project in the MCU is ingrained in the very fabric of the franchise. The perfect example of how far they are willing to go to keep key details under wraps is what Andrew Garfield did in the days leading up to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The actor has famously been condemned for how much he lied during the release of the film. Fans would constantly bombard him with questions about his appearance in the film, and he would deny it over and over. When the film was released and fans found out that he was, in fact, in the movie,...

The entertainment wing of the Walt Disney Company easily encompasses some of the biggest franchises in pop culture. Ranging from the juggernaut Marvel Studios to the beloved animations brought forth by Pixar and from the 20th Century Studios lineup of movies to the entirety of the Star Wars saga, thanks to its acquisition of Lucasfilm.

With just a few days to go until Star Wars: The Acolyte premiere on Disney+, the latest TV spot for the show offers a terrifying new glimpse at its mysterious Sith villain. The more we see of that helmet, the closer it looks to what Kylo Ren donned in the sequel trilogy.
Darth Vader's grandson being inspired by a powerful Sith from the past wouldn't be a huge surprise and this mysterious character clearly plays a pivotal role in bringing the Sith back to prominence.
Given The Acolyte's place in the Star Wars timeline, it still seems likely that Darth Plagueis or Darth Tenebrous is beneath the mask. However, Lucasfilm may be planning to make some significant changes to much of the lore established in Expanded Universe stories.
Thanks to Bespin Bulletin, we also have intel on the runtimes for The Acolyte's first four episodes:

Marvel Studios has a rather odd calendar in store for 2024. After years of lining up a slew of movies and shows post the Avengers: Endgame storyline, it has dialed back significantly with Deadpool & Wolverine standing out as its sole release for the year. Regardless, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer has raked in sufficient hype and nostalgia to sail forward as one of the most anticipated Marvel movies in recent times, setting up the stage for a mega box-office showdown.

We're expecting to see some big cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine when it arrives in theaters later this summer.
However, it would be wise to keep expectations in check; after all, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured the likes of Professor X and Mister Fantastic but was somehow still deemed a disappointment by many fans (likely because rumours promised Spider-Man and an evil Iron Man played by Tom Cruise).
With that in mind, Deadpool & Wolverine might not be as star-studded as expected, especially with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon. Still, we're bound to see some characters from the X-Men franchise's past, right?
Appearing at the London premiere for Star Wars: The Acolyte earlier this week, Logan star Dafne Keen was asked whether she's "sad" not to be reprising her role as Laura in the upcoming Marvel Studios threequel.

Summertime tends to be a quieter yet exciting period for the average TV viewer, as the broadcast season hiatus leaves room for big streaming and cable offerings to take center stage.
There might be a bit of a decrease in output now that the Emmy submission period is over, but there’s no lack of new and returning shows across broadcast, streaming and cable this summer. While the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will keep the world’s attention in late july, the return of Amazon’s “The Boys” and HBO’s “House of the Dragon” will surely have fans talking throughout the next few months, while new shows like “Star Wars” spin-off “The Acolyte” on Disney+ and the animated “Terminator Zero” hope to burst into the zeitgeist. One of the most exciting things about "The Acolyte" is its return to elaborate action choreography. The prequels raised the bar for what "Star Wars" fight scenes could do, giving us Jedi jumps and flips that really sold the idea of the Jedi being awesome, superhuman warriors revered throughout the galaxy. Now, "The Acolyte" is bringing wuxia martial arts action to the franchise for a new type of Jedi choreography that we've never seen before — and judging from the first trailer, we are in for a treat. Indeed, there is one fight scene in "The Acolyte" that is trying to beat the Darth Maul fight from "The Phantom Menace" and give us the best fight scene in all of "Star Wars," according to Dafne Keen.
But making "The Acolyte" was not all serious business: there was also a lot of fun to be had — especially if you played a Jedi.

You won’t have to go to a galaxy far, far away in order to get the latest installment of the Star Wars story. Coming in June on Disney+, fans will be treated to the new series “The Acolyte,” which travels back to the end of the galaxy’s High Republic Era. In a similar vein, also coming to the platform in the new month are the final episodes of Disney+’s first season as the streaming home for “Doctor Who.” You won’t want to miss any of the action as the Fifteenth Doctor attempts to save time and space.
Throughout June, Disney+ will also celebrate the 90th birthday of Donald Duck and premiere a new preschool-aimed series based on the iconic “Little Mermaid” film. As always, Disney+ will premiere titles that appear to all members of the family.
The company’s flagship streaming service has two subscription options.

Deadpool & Wolverine will see Hugh Jackman reprise his role as Wolverine for the first time since his exit in 2017’s Logan. The physicality that was required for the character took a heavy toll on the actor’s body, which contributed to his leaving the character behind. However, the actor is back for another round with Ryan Reynolds, but this does not mean Jackman would be the MCU’s Wolverine.

Star Wars will be getting a new show next month called The Acolyte. The mystery thriller show is reportedly set before the events of the Star Wars films (even the prequels) and follows the murder of multiple Jedi Knights. Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland acts as the creator and showrunner of the Disney+ series.
While the show has been in the making for the past four years, it has reportedly cost Disney a lot of money. According to a new report, the eight-episode series cost the studio $180 million, which is a lot considering the show features none of the characters previously seen in the franchise. Even the Ewan McGregor starring Obi-Wan Kenobi had a budget of $90 million.

Every fandom has its share of toxic elements, but it's probably fair to say that Disney-era Star Wars has experienced more negativity and backlash from a certain contingent of fans than any other franchise over the past few years.
There was the expected amount of pushback to Daisy Ridley being announced as the lead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but it really picked up when her character, Rey, was deemed to be a "Mary Sue." The toxicity arguably reached a crescendo when Kelly Marie-Tran's Rose Tico was introduced in The Last Jedi, but the general perception among some fans that Star Wars has become too pandering in its representation and inclusivity continues.
With The Acolyte - a new Disney+ series from showrunner Leslye Headland featuring a primarily female cast - on the horizon, Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy acknowledged that coming aboard the franchise can be a "terrifying" experience for female filmmakers and actors.

We're now just a few days away from the two-episode premiere of The Acolyte, and between the persistent rumors and the trailers possibly revealing a little too much, it seems Lucasfilm has given the cast the go-ahead to discuss a certain plot point relating to Amandla Stenberg's character.
If you'd rather go in knowing as little as possible, here's your spoiler warning.
Previous reports have claimed that Stenberg will actually play a dual role as twins, one of whom carries out the Jedi assassinations and frames the other for the murders.
During an interview with The Electric Playground, Stenberg confirmed that she is indeed playing twins named Mae and Osha, while also revealing some new details about both sisters.

One of the biggest selling points of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ seems to be the unprecedented amount of cameos and variants set to appear in the movie. So far, we have over 25 characters from former Fox’s ‘X-Men’ franchise and other properties either rumored to appear or confirmed to appear.
One of them is Dafne Keen’s Laura. Although the character was never explicitly confirmed to be in the movie, fans have assumed as much since Wolverine’s past, or at least the past of one of his variants seems to heavily nod toward the character.
But, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is not the only massive project that Keen is “set to return in” as the actress is currently doing promotion for her upcoming Star Wars show, ‘The Acolyte.’ Keen is set on playing Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon, but as those things often go, she was asked about her role in the upcoming MCU movie as well.

When Hugh Jackman hung up his claws as Wolverine in the wake of 2017’s Logan, fans were sure that they would never see Jackman essay the role again, given the toll the character had taken on his body. After Dafne Keen's acclaimed performance as Laura/X-23 in 2017's Logan, it was generally assumed that the young actress would get the opportunity to reprise the role down the line.
Of course, this was before Disney acquired 20th Century Fox's assets in 2019's highly-publicized takeover.
Keen has since confirmed that there were indeed tentative plans in place for an X-23 spinoff before the acquisition, but said she didn't hear anything about it after the deal went through. However, the announcement that Marvel Studios was moving forward with a third Deadpool movie (now titled Deadpool and Wolverine) gave the His Dark Materials and The Acolyte star hope that we could see the clawed mutant follow the Merc With a Mouth into MCU.
"I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high in case it doesn't happen, but I really do hope it does because I loved playing Laura,...

When Hugh Jackman bid farewell to Wolverine in 2017's Logan, it was unclear what 20th Century Fox had planned for the clawed mutant moving forward.
Had the Disney/Fox merger not happened (and assuming Dark Phoenix didn't bomb), the next X-Men movie would have likely shifted focus to the 2000s. Given Wolverine's popularity, we'd imagine the idea was to recast the role if not there, then definitely somewhere down the line.
Fortunately, Marvel Studios and Ryan Reynolds managed to convince Jackman to reprise the role for Deadpool & Wolverine. In an interview with People, the actor explained why he walked away from Logan in the first place.
"I had got to the point probably 10 years ago I was like, I'm not enjoying it. It was hurting. It was tough," Jackman admits. "But I've had a break, and I've been doing a lot of dance. I've been doing stage shows. And so...

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ marks the upcoming installment in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, set to debut on Disney+ on June 4th. It promises to offer a wholly unique adventure.
Taking place during the High Republic Era, also dubbed the Golden Age of the Jedi Order due to their vast numbers, the series aims to challenge the notion that Jedi alone wield the Force for good. Showrunner Leslye Headland appears poised to explore the idea that, given the right circumstances, the Jedi can be portrayed as bad guys.
The show unexpectedly sparked controversy online, largely stemming from its female-led cast and controversial statements made by Headland regarding Star Wars lore. These controversies led to rumors circulating a few weeks ago suggesting that the show had been canceled even before its release.
In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, producer Rayne Roberts hinted that the show might still receive a second season:...

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ is the next chapter in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. The show arrives on Disney+ on June 4th and it promises to be a completely different adventure.
The show will be set during the High Republic Era, also known as the Golden Age of Jedi Order due to their overwhelming numbers, and it seems that Headland is trying to use that setting to prove that Jedi don’t have the monopoly on Force and that they do too can be bad guys when context is given.
The show surprisingly stirred a lot of controversy online primarily due to having a female-led cast, and due to some controversial statements made by Headland regarding the Star Wars lore. We're now just eight days away from the 2-episode premiere of The Acolyte, and Lucasfilm has shared another clip from the latest live-action Disney+ Star Wars series.
Last week's sneak peek saw Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) engaged in fierce combat with the mysterious warrior he believes to be his former apprentice, Mae (Amandla Stenberg), and here we see the dark-side Force-user try her hand against an equally formidable opponent in Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss).
Indara easily evades Mae's initial strikes, but it soon becomes clear that she has been well-trained, and the Jedi's foe manages to land a decent hit towards the end of the fight.
During a recent interview with Empire, The Matrix star spoke about getting the opportunity to join the Star Wars universe and reignite her passion for performing action sequences.

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ is set to premiere in a week with its first two episodes, sparking excitement among fans. The series unfolds in the High Republic Era, offering a portrayal of Jedi with institutional power, as Leslye Headland has extensively discussed.
The show boasts a diverse cast of characters, predominantly Jedi, who undergo rigorous training to hone their martial arts and lightsaber skills. In a recent interview with Empire, Dafne Keen, who portrays Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon, candidly shares her training challenges and the necessity for a custom lightsaber during filming.

Deadpool & Wolverine will finally bring the Merc with the Mouth and Logan together, and while we're expecting heaps of cameos, there's one we know many of you are eager to see on screen this July.
In case it wasn't already obvious, we're talking about The Hulk. Wolverine debuted in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #180 for an unforgettable clash with the Jade Giant, and Marvel Studios now has the opportunity to recreate that somewhere in the Multiverse.
Offering us an idea of what it might look like is a new fan poster which sees Wolverine and The Hulk in the thick of battle.
As much as we'd love to see this in Deadpool & Wolverine, we wouldn't be surprised if Marvel Studios is saving this for Avengers: Secret Wars. Then again, with The Hulk brought to life with VFX, it might be easy enough to insert the Green Goliath into Wade Wilson and Logan's team-up.

The 70s class of filmmakers who re-shaped cinema with their culture-defining works are seemingly getting some recognition recently. The marketing campaign for Deadpool & Wolverine went into high gear earlier this week when tickets went on sale, but there's still a huge amount we don't know about the movie.
While there are plenty of rumours out there, the trailers have only hinted at the threequel's Multiversal elements with glimpses of the Tva and The Void. Only time will tell whether Taylor Swift dazzles us and the original X-Men return, but at least one cameo has now been confirmed.
In the latest episode of FX's Welcome to Wrexham, Rob McElhenney visits Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool & Wolverine's set to film a cameo.
The actor hides his costume beneath a robe, but there's one shot (at the 2:04 mark) where we can quite clearly see the Time Variance Authority logo on his upper chest. Reynolds even hints that he's playing one of their agents, and it's confirmed here.

The Witcher's Paul Bullion Looks Unrecognizable in Star Wars: The Acolyte as Master Lakshay - Main Image
Lee Jung-Jae and Amandla Stenberg are set to take the lead in Star Wars: The Acolyte on Disney+. However, there is one particular actor that caught fans' eyes. Paul Bullion in The Acolyte trailer seems familiar, but who is he?
As Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-Jae) comes up against his former apprentice Mae (Amandla Stenberg), another Jedi Master is lurking in the background of The Acolyte, and that is Jedi Master Lakshay (Paul Bullion).
Here's where you may have previously seen the Lakshay actor.

The news came about to fans when they noticed a familiar figure standing behind Dafne Keen's Padawan Jecki in The Acolyte's trailer. The tall redhead actor was wearing a white cloak that kept his character under wraps, but...

During this year's CinemaCon, attendees were treated to a special Deadpool & Wolverine PSA. That featured both characters going on a foul-mouthed tirade aimed at moviegoers who don't silence their cellphones. Now, it's found its way online!
The video has started playing in theaters and hasn't been "officially" released (at least not yet). However, we have a version recorded by a fan and this thing is absolutely hilarious.
A very angry Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) makes a series of threats before being calmed down by the Merc with the Mouth (Ryan Reynolds). Things between them get weird fast, but it's clear the clawed mutant doesn't appreciate seeing someone's phone light up or start ringing during a trip to the movies.
This Variant of Logan also appears to have a short temper, something we're sure contributes to his hatred of the chatty Wade Wilson.
"I hope this doesn’t sound condescending, I’m...

Deadpool & Wolverine Stars Tease Cassandra Nova's "Unpredictability" And Reveal Surprise Inspiration
While we've seen a lot from Deadpool & Wolverine in recent weeks, much of the threequel is shrouded in secrecy. The latest trailer offered a glimpse at the movie's villain, Cassandra Nova, though we still don't know what she's up to in The Void.
The prevailing theory is that the twisted twin sister of Professor X hails from the same reality as Deadpool & Wolverine's Logan. If she killed the X-Men before being pruned, it would go a long way in establishing Nova as a threat to the heroes and perhaps even the wider Multiverse.
In a profile of Emma Corrin on Harper's Bazaar, the actor (who uses they/them pronouns), refuses to say too much about playing the villain but confirmed Christoph Waltz's Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds was a key source of inspiration.
"Because he’s in that uniform, that says everything you need to know,...

Actor Lee Jung-jae will attend the Monte-Carlo Television Festival next month for the French press launch of Lucasfilm’s latest live-action series “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” which streams on Disney+. In the show, Lee plays a Jedi Master.
It was his role in the globally successful Netflix series “Squid Game” that first catapulted Lee’s career to an international level. Starring as Seong Gi-hun (No. 456), a financially struggling father who participates in a deadly survival game, his performance earned him the Emmy Award for best actor in a drama series, a first for a non-English speaking actor.
This tremendous success significantly elevated the career of Lee, who is now considered by many as the international standard-bearer for a highly creative and avant-garde Korean culture.
In “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” an investigation into a series of shocking crimes pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee) against a dangerous warrior from his past.
