“3 Body Problem” will end with its third season on Netflix.
The sci-fi adaptation, which launched its first season in March, is officially set to air second and third installments before coming to a close, offering clarity to the streamer’s previous statement that it would return “with all-new episodes to take viewers through the full journey of this epic saga.”
The news was announced during the show’s Netflix Fysee panel on Friday.
The update comes less than a month after “3 Body Problem” was renewed mid-May during Netflix’s upfront presentation in New York City. However, the extent of that renewal was previously unclear.
“We’re thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion,” creators David Benioff, D.B. Weiss and Alexander Woo said in a joint statement at the time. “Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 4, “I Want You More Than Anything in the World.”] Dream-stat is no more. Louis (Jacob Anderson) cast away the hallucination of Lestat (Sam Reid) in Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 4. Anderson tells TV Insider this was Louis giving himself closure he’s needed since leaving New Orleans, but what happens immediately after is a concerning sign that Louis has “devolved,” as the actor previously described to us ahead of the season’s debut. The best Dream-stat scenes of the season came in Episode 4 when Louis is alone with his thoughts. Louis complains about his photography woes to the maroon suit-clad Lestat who’s happy to hear Louis vent on and on, encouraging him to get out his feelings with sweet lines like, “Tell me, mon cher.” After Louis and Claudia’s (Delainey Hayles) awful fight, Lestat gives Louis an empathetic look and says, “The wilderness that...

Norman Lear was not a man to shy away from controversy. If anything, he sprinted toward it, knowing that doing so would help open people’s minds to pervasive American issues related to discrimination, human rights, and more. Through his landmark sitcoms like “All in the Family,” “Maude,” “Sanford and Son,” “One Day at a Time” (twice!), and “Good Times” (also twice!), Lear helped American families address thorny political and social topics by bringing those circumstances into their living rooms every week.
But one episode has long stood out as his most controversial: “Maude’s Dilemma,” a two-part episode airing in the first season, wherein the lead character (played by Bea Arthur) decides to get an abortion. At the time, abortions were legal in the state of New York (where Maude and her family lived), but the Roe v. Wade verdict was still two months away. CBS was wary about...

“What took you so long?”
That was the general vibe of the “Suits” reunion panel Sunday afternoon, where stars Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, and executive Jeff Wachtel gathered to discuss the legal drama that aired for nine seasons on USA Network but gained an expanded following when it hit Netflix in June 2023.

You could say that Kate Hudson is extremely famous as an actor and almost famous as a singer. That last part is changing as the public gets a gander of the promotional appearances she’s been doing for her debut album, “Glorious,” everywhere from the “Voice” finale to Howard Stern’s show. There’s a nearly universal reaction: “Wow, you can sing… really sing” — which maybe shouldn’t come as such a great surprise after her vocal appearances in the musical films “Nine” and “Music” and a prominent guest spot on “Glee,” and yet, maybe there was a suspicion in...

Could “Suits” be a movie? It’s not out of the question, said star Patrick J. Adams during Sunday’s reunion panel at the Atx TV Festival.
Following a retrospective panel with Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, Abigail Spencer and executive Jeff Wachtel, a fan asked if the cast or creators would ever be interested in a reunion movie. While creator Aaron Korsh couldn’t be there — and is working on the spinoff — he’s interested in it, according to Adams.
“I am a person of no power or authority, but obviously, there’s a ‘Suits: LA‘ show that is being made.

One year ago, as the WGA strike was just getting underway and the SAG strike was still looming, Beau Willimon and Greg Iwinski took part in a panel at the Atx TV Festival to rally support and better explain what their unions were fighting to secure. Sunday, with both strikes in the rearview mirror following major victories for both parties, the two WGA East members returned to the festival with SAG member and national board representative Dulé Hill to discuss what they won and what work still needs to be done.
“Strikes aren’t necessarily for the membership now,” Hill said. “Strikes are for the members who are coming. […] I cannot let there be rollbacks so I receive more than the next generations receive. I cannot let that happen.”

Ahoy! This year, the seafaring reality series Below Deck Mediterranean sets sail around Athens and the Greek islands as Capt. Sandy Yawn and her hard-working crew accept wealthy (and usually difficult) passengers aboard the 180-foot superyacht Mustique. Let’s hope this season is a reset after the drama-heavy eighth outing, which ventured around Italy. Well, maybe. Yawn — who continues to have faith in her crew but isn’t always privy to every fling and pressure-building situation — notes a pattern she’s observed in her years of experience: “In the beginning, the crew are eager and willing to work. They’re in it to win it. And then, by day two and a half, the wheels fall off. By charter three, it is meltdown time.” Below, Yawn reveals more of what’s on Deck for Season 9. ‘Star Trek’: Leonard Nimoy & William Shatner Had a ‘Very Challenging’ Relationship, Nimoy’s Son Says
Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner — two actors who boldly went where no man had gone before as James Kirk and Spock on the 1960s TV series Star Trek — had a “very challenging relationship,” according to Nimoy’s son, Adam. “It’s unfortunate, it’s sad, but it is what it is,” Adam, author of the book The Most Human: Reconciling with My Father, Leonard Nimoy, told Page Six. “I love Bill, but I can say, I will say, that they had a very challenging relationship themselves.” Paramount/Everett Collection Adam said that he knows why his father and Shatner feuded — and intends to “let sleeping dogs lie” — but also pointed out that there was a period when the two Star Trek actors were “really beautifully … together.” During that time, Leonard told Adam and his other child, Julie Nimoy, that Shatner was his best friend. “Julie and I were scratching our heads,...

Right as generative AI was becoming the hot-button issue of last summer’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Charlie Brooker, creator of beloved Netflix television anthology series “Black Mirror,” was ready to skewer the topic with his season 6 premiere, “Joan Is Awful.” Following a woman named Joan (Annie Murphy) as her life slowly unravels due to its constant depiction on an app called Streamberry, the episode delves into the slippery slope we’ve all signed up for by signing our data away to companies and computers with potentially dubious intentions. Released a month into the 2023 strikes, “Joan Is Awful” became a touchstone for artists raising alarms on the entertainment industry’s new investment into AI programs like ChatGPT and Midjourney.
“It was really odd,” Brooker said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “So, I must have written it in June-July in 2022. When we shot it, it was September-October.

As a child actress in film and television, Gaby Hoffmann was known for roles that leaned, as she called it in a recent interview with The Independent, “punchy” and “precocious.” Being a kid of New York City in the ‘80s, surrounded by parents who were actors and their artist friends, perhaps she was always destined to have a unique sense of freedom in her presence. Starring in the recent Netflix miniseries “Eric” with Benedict Cumberbatch, which takes place in ‘80s New York City, Hoffmann plays a mother whose son has gone missing. Stepping back into the past has made Hoffmann reflect on some of the choices she’s made during her career, like giving up acting for college.

It’s been nearly two years since “Industry” last aired, but the Season 3 premiere wastes no time getting the hot young bankers of London’s high finance world back into trouble. On Friday night in Austin, TX, HBO presented the first episode in its entirety at the Atx Television Festival, and the nearly full theater was whipped into a frenzy by the time the credits rolled. Multiple gasps were heard throughout the hourlong screening — the causes of which will not be spoiled here — and, especially lucky for the fans in the theater, co-creators Konrad Kay and Mickey Down were on-hand for post-show Q&a to help talk through select scenes and prepare viewers for what’s coming up next.
“We do want it to be super intense,” Kay said from the stage.

In building the world of Netflix’s “Ripley,” production designer David Gropman needed to incorporate grand Italian train stations and works of art from the early 1960s.
The series, shot in black and white, is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” about a con artist named Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott), who befriends a wealthy shipping heir, Dickie Greenleaf, played by Johnny Flynn.
Gropman began his plunge into designing the look of the show by studying photography books with images of the time and place. “Neo Realismo: The New Image in Italy 1932-1960” was his style bible.

Over the course of The Good Wife and The Good Fight, viewers saw Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) the lawyer. Now, on her own show, Elsbeth, she’s solving crimes alongside the NYPD; at first, she was ostensibly there as part of a consent decree while secretly investigating Captain Wagner (Wendell Pierce) for possibly corruption, but now, with that case closed (he’s innocent) and everything out in the open, she has an official office at the precinct. But there was a storyline discussed that would’ve brought Elsbeth back into a courtroom. “At one point, we talked about there being a murder and Wagner being arrested for it, and Elsbeth having defending him at the beginning of season 2,” showrunner Jonathan Tolins told TV Insider. However, “it wasn’t the show that was emerging as we worked on the season.” But could we see Elsbeth back in the courtroom for another...

William Daniels’ Mr. Feeny said it himself on Boy Meets World: You don’t have to be blood to be family. And Daniels and some of his own family from the ‘90s sitcom reunited recently, as the actor showed off on social media. “Just a little reunion with my favorite students!” Daniels wrote on X, captioning photos of himself posing alongside wife Bonnie and former Boy Meets World costars Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence), Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter), and Will Friedle (Eric Matthews). Conspicuously absent from the mini-reunion was Ben Savage, who played protagonist Cory Matthews. Fishel, Strong, and Friedle — who cohost the Pod Meets World podcast — told Variety last year that Savage had broken off contact. Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole, who was found murdered alongside Ronald Goldman in 1994 outside her Brentwood condominium, in ways most viewers have not before. For a long time the place for up-and-coming comics to get a real chance at breaking into the public’s consciousness was a five-minute stand-up feature on a late-night show.
An entire generation of the biggest-name comics—Letterman, Leno, Crystal, Seinfeld, Shandling, Pryor, Williams, DeGeneres—recognized that a shot in front of the national audience drawn nightly to Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show was, in success, a golden ticket to a celebrated career.
Is that still true?
The answer is more complicated than it used to be because comics now have the opportunity to build a following solely on social media, doing sets on You Tube or Tik Tok, etc.
And younger comics, much more raised on the attraction of those social media sites, often look to score there rather than on TV, because many contemporary comedy clubs now book more often based on number of followers than a single hot set on late night.
