The dystopian video game adaptation of Fallout is at last hitting screens next year and we finally have its release date: The popular franchise’s TV series will premiere Friday April 12, 2024, Prime Video announced Monday.
The role-playing game takes place in the 22nd century in the aftermath of a planet-wide nuclear war, where inhabitants of underground “vaults” must venture into a radioactive wasteland in order to procure items that will help save themselves and their neighbors. Law & Order, FBI, Grey’s Anatomy and 9-1-1: Lone Star fans are set to be able to enjoy some new episodes of their favorite shows in the 2023/24 broadcast season after the WGA and the AMPTP struck a deal that would end the writers strike.
The beginning of October was widely seen as the marker for when the writers strike would need to be over to give ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC a fighting chance to get any of their scripted shows on the air for a midseason premiere.
While the actors strike still needs to be resolved and the writers deal still needs to be voted on and ratified, there is optimism that the majority of network dramas and comedies will be able to launch in the new year.

Die Hard came out thirty-five years ago and we’re still seeing a steady stream of knock-offs rip-offs and cash-ins arriving. Case in point, Mercy, which like last year’s Assault on Va-33 puts a hospital under siege. Can the filmmakers deliver an entertaining action film, or is this, like so many other similar films, Doa?
While serving in Afghanistan Dr. Michelle Miller had her husband turn up as a patient in her field hospital, worse he had a bomb strapped to him. This leads to an agonized, and agonizing, exchange of dialogue “Get out Michelle, somebody’s got to be there for Bobby!” “No, I’m not leaving you!” followed by Frank rolling off the table so his detonation somehow doesn’t kill her.

Diversity in television casts has continued to improve, and women now make up a major portion of lead roles in broadcast, cable and digital series — but that may not remain the case.
This year’s Hollywood Diversity Report — now being published via UCLA’s newly structured Entertainment and Media Research Initiative — shows that there has been an increase in diversity since the 2019-20 season. However, researchers see signs that could predict a retreat in the industry’s gender and racial diversity initiatives, particularly on big-budget shows and writing positions.
“The next few years may be a true test of whether Hollywood is truly committed to the changes they promised during the nation’s reckoning on race following the murder of George Floyd,” Ana-Christina Ramón, co-author of the report, said.

CBS’ new all-fbi Tuesday lineup will launch Sept. 21 with a three-hour crossover linking the three series, returning FBI and FBI: Most Wanted and new addition FBI: International.
During an FBI franchise panel at TCA this week, CBS released a trailer for the crossover (you can watch it above), with FBI executive producer Dick Wolf and cast members from all three shows discussing the premiere.
Wolf spoke of some real-life headlines that influenced the crossover story, referencing convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, his forger associate Ghislaine Maxwell as well as businessman and producer Steve Bing who died tragically last year.
“I think that the crossover embodies what these shows are supposed to be,” Wolf said. “All these shows are fiction. I start with that. But there are certain elements in this show that will remind the audience of Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bing, and other people that have been in the papers over the past year,...

CBS Fall 2021-22 Schedule: ‘NCIS’, ‘Bull’ & ‘S.W.A.T.’ On the Move, ‘FBI’ Tuesday, Reality Expansion
NCIS is a series you could set your clock by. For its entire 18-season run to date, the venerable crime drama starring Mark Harmon has had one time slot, always airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. That is changing next season when CBS‘ most watched series will move to Monday for an FBI Tuesday lineup consisting of mothership FBI, new entry FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted. The one-night, three-dramas, one-franchise scheduling conducive to frequent crossovers has become a Dick Wolf special, with CBS’ FBI Tuesday mirroring NBC’s One Chicago Wednesday and new Law & Order Thursday, giving the uber producer three consecutive nights across two broadcast networks.
Here is CBS’ fall 2021 schedule, which features three new dramas — all new installments of established procedural franchises, NCIS, CSI and FBI — and one new comedy, Ghosts, followed by analysis and descriptions of the network’s new series.

She worked in the literal sense, in that she was rarely without an acting job from the time her career began in the early Sixties, with a role as Julie Murano on the CBS daytime soap Love of Life, all the way through this past February, when her guest appearance on ABC’s American Housewife aired, just weeks before Walter died at the age of 80. Both “Mixed-ish” and its precursor “Black-ish” scored a 0.5, with the former delivering 2.8 million pairs of eyeballs and the latter 2.6 million. “Bless This Mess” posted a 0.6 and just under 4 million viewers.

FBI: Most Wanted episodes are on the CBS schedule over the next two weeks, and it might provide a hint or two about the season finale for the new show. First, it’s worth pointing out that the March 31 episode of FBI: Most Wanted won its time slot (again) for CBS. The bad news, though, was that viewership numbers were...

Dozens of TV shows now airing will screech to a halt in the weeks to come, ahead of their planned season finales. What reveals, twists and entanglements do you hope nonetheless transpire before your favorites head for an early, pandemic-dictated hiatus?
Some of the impacted shows might only leave one or two episodes “on the table,” while others will see their seasons come up a few episodes short, or even more. (You can find details in TVLine’s Coronavirus Impact gallery.) So keep that in mind when wishing for something to happen before the ersatz finale arrives.

We can probably look forward to more crossovers between FBI and Chicago P.D.
FBI Season 2 Episode 19 delivered 10.8 million total viewers -- the highest total viewer tally for the series ever.
In the 18-49 demo, it scored a 1.2 rating, the best since its 2018 series premiere.
The episode in question brought over Hailey Upton from NBC's Chicago P.D. to help solve a case.
It's unclear whether FBI characters will be allowed to cross over to the OneChicago universe, but time will tell.
NCIS was also on the up side, delivering 13.4 million total viewers -- its highest audience in almost 24 months -- while staying steady at a season high 1.3 rating in the demo.
FBI: Most Wanted was down from last week's crossover, but 8.2 million viewers and a 0.9 rating is geat retention out of the mothership series.
Look for this spinoff to get a renewal for next season.

CBS topped Tuesday with its crime dramas dominating viewership in primetime, highlighted by the biggest audience to watch NCIS in two years and the season finale of FBI, which hit a series high in viewers.
NCIS led the charge, holding steady with last week and earning a 1.3 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 13.43 million viewers. The momentum kept going for FBI, a crossover with its Dick Wolf stablemate Chicago P.D. that ended up serving as the finale due to the coronavirus pandemic shuttering production on its final episodes. The show ticked up a tenth in the demo.

“This Is Us” dipped to match its lowest TV rating to date, but still managed to come out on top on Tuesday night.

The live episode of “The Conners,” tied to the New Hampshire primary, notched a season-high among total viewers for the ABC sitcom on Tuesday, while the debut of “For Life” at 10 p.m. performed well enough to win its time slot.
The 0.7 rating/4 share among the key adults 18-49 demo for “For Life” could be considered a bit of disappointment — after all it did get a ton of promotion from ABC, especially during The Oscars on Sunday — but building on your lead in is nothing to thumb your nose at. “For Life” also drew 3.2 million total viewers. “The Conners,” which aired a live version of its episode in both the Eastern and Pacific time zones, posted a season-best 6.3 million viewers as well as gained in the demo with a 1.1 rating/6 share.

CBS will be making renewal and cancellation decisions for its shows in the coming months.
With many shows on the bench, it's hard to imagine everything making the cut for renewal, meaning the more marginal performers could be in danger.
Below, we've rounded up every scripted show on CBS, as well as their chances for continuing into the 2020-21 TV season.
NCIS - Certain Renewal
NCIS remains a solid option for CBS, with it currently averaging 11.3 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49.
With a week of DVR factored in, the Mark Harmon-fronted series is leaping to 15.1 million viewers.
The series is still a strong performer internationally, and helps keep CBS on the map with the 25-54 crowd.
It should be around for the years to come -- unless producers decide to end it.
Young Sheldon - Renewed

“This Is Us” lost a little ground in the TV ratings on Tuesday night, however, it still managed to lead NBC to a narrow victory on the night.
The acclaimed drama scored a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49 and drew 6.5 million viewers, down fractionally on last week’s 1.5 rating and 6.7 million viewers. Part 4 of ABC’s “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time” ticked down 12% from the previous part, but still put up big TV ratings numbers on Tuesday night.
The quizzing showdown, which saw Ken Jennings emerge victorious over Brad Rutter and recent favorite James Holzhauer, scored a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 and drew 13.5 million total viewers, compared to the 15.4 million who tuned in to part 3. Those numbers represent the lowest for any of the tournament’s four parts, but still comfortably top the nearest competitor, “NCIS,” by 3.5 million viewers and almost a whole ratings point.
“Mixed-ish” also dipped from a season high last week, coming in at a 0.7 and 3.7 million viewers. “Black-ish” also suffered from the weaker lead-in from “Jeopardy!,” falling to a 0.5 and 2.4 million viewers, down from a 0.8 and 3.2 million last week. “Emergence” capped off the night with a 0.3 and 2.1 million viewers, a series low in both metrics to date.

CBS’ FBI and FBI: Most Wanted could be joined by another spinoff in the not so distant future.
Executive producer Dick Wolf has always envisioned FBI as a franchise, and pitched the original series to CBS that way from the get-go.
We hear that Wolf, who co-created mothership FBI with Craig Turk, has had conversations with CBS about launching a second spinoff series in the FBI universe. The two sides will likely start working on developing another FBI series next season as they wanted to focus on launching FBI: Most Wanted this season.
Created by René Balcer, FBI: Most Wanted got off to a strong start, drawing 9.7 million viewers in Live+3 for its Jan. 7 debut to become the most watched new series premiere of the season.
During the TCA session for FBI: Most Wanted, Wolf, who is behind the formidable Law & Order and Chicago franchises, didn’t address directly the possibility of further FBI shows,...

NBC’s new musical drama “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” didn’t have an extraordinary (early) start on NBC Tuesday, according to Nielsen.
Following the season premiere of “Ellen’s Game of Games,” the Jane Levy-led series aired its first episode at 10 p.m. last night, which was marketed as a “preview” broadcast for the new show. The Paul Feig-produced drama will have its official series premiere Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. and remain in that time slot moving forward.
Meanwhile, the debut of CBS’ “FBI” spinoff “FBI: Most Wanted” landed the largest audience for any new series this season and the premiere of “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time” put up some really great numbers, leading ABC to easily win the night in the key 18-49 demo.

The prompt is what show comfortably won Tuesday night’s TV ratings with a whopping 14.4 million total viewers?
What is “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time” would be the correct answer. The first episode of ABC’s “Jeopardy!” celebration scored a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49, more than doubling its competition on the night. That demo number is the fourth largest of the broadcast season so far, behind only the Golden Globes, “The Little Mermaid Live” and the season premiere of “The Masked Singer.” The show also beat out regular viewership champ “NCIS” on CBS by around 4 million viewers.
Speaking of CBS, the network debuted “FBI: Most Wanted” to a solid 0.8 rating and 7.2 million total viewers in the 10 p.m. time slot. That represents the largest Live+Same Day viewership for any scripted series debut so far this season. “NCIS” kicked off the night with a 1.0 and 10.3 million viewers, while “FBI...
