Black Rock Horse
The Trojan Horse at Burning Man - the biggest independent art project on the Playa in 2011.
The artists recruit hundreds of volunteers to pull a 26 ton, 52 foot high, wooden horse across a dry lake-bed. But, the procession turns into a stampede when the 600 volunteer “Greek Slaves” revolt. “Black Rock Horse”, a 30 minute film that premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival dives into the inner workings of a complex project and the inherent and sometimes ridiculous conflicts of participatory art. Said one viewer "The singular story "Black Rock Horse" tells gives a much better impression about what really goes on at Burning Man than endless fast cut, random clips set to Dub Step."
