Veronica Mars (2004)
This was one of those rare shows that doesn't come along very often. It stars the excellent Kristen Bell as the lead. She shows a wide range of emotions and brings depth to the feisty Veronica. The script is witty, moving and well paced. All the supporting cast are top notch and the father/daughter relationship is particularly moving. The story revolves around Veronica who turns PI after her friend Lily is murdered. There's plenty of twists and shocks to leave you on the edge of your seat and a beautiful love story between Logan and Veronica. It's a shame that a lot of people would rather watch reality rubbish than this gem we'll miss you Veronica!
Robin Hood (2006)
good after the first ten minutes
The first ten minutes of the show had me very worried. A wench with a ton of make-up and a far to modern script all seemed to point to this show being drivel. Luckily after that the show picked up. A charismatic Robin leads the show with an excellent Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborn. Some exciting stunts and Good old bow and arrow work as well as some moral sparring. Keith Allen was an interesting choice as the Sheriff, he uses a sadistic humour which he pulls of well but doesn't have the kind of malevolent presence to be truly threatening. Marian has been re-written to be tougher but wasn't in the episode enough to make a big impression.Time will tell if it can overcome it's faults but on the whole a good enjoyable family show.
