Stargate SG-1: Morpheus (2006)
A good start to series 10
This is episode 2 of series 10 and it's off to a good start. Episode one has the job of trying to bridge the gap from the previous series; it has the job of reminding the viewers where we are in the story-history and also kick off the story lines for the upcoming series. So episode two is where we get the first full story.
There are two story threads. Vala has to prove to Major Landry that she can be a team player and has to pass a psychological test. Mitchell, Jackson, Carter and Teal'c follow a lead to an empty village to go through it's library for clues to three places where a weapon may be found that can defeat the Ori. Unfortunately, what they find is a sleeping sickness that infects them all. They can't go back while infected; they can't stay or the sickness will kill them... There are lots of good moments in this episode. Claudia Black (as Vala) is just a wonder to watch in a role that she's obviously having fun with. I sincerely hope that she's going to be a permanent addition to SG1. The second Psycho-babble question she looks up in order to 'cram' for the 'test' is from Blade Runner - 'You see a turtle upside down in the backing sun... Why aren't you helping it?'. Her answer: 'Because you are a turtle too'. Magic! Mitchell's 'Are they the Knights who say "Ni"?' is from Monty Python's Holy Grail (or 'Spamalot'). With Arthur featuring highly in series 10 this surely is the start of a whole series of Monty Python and the Holy Grail quotes!
Morpheus is, of course, the god of sleep.
Kim Possible: Rappin' Drakken (2005)
Best ever episode
I know this sounds sad but I could watch this episode over and over again. Two really good songs, one of which is so catchy I just can't get it out of my head. Just listen to the words of Ron's song. (This must say something about how easy it is to write Rap songs - but I won't go into that here...). Drakken attempts one of his stupidest plots so far... brain washing shampoo. There's two problems, he's called it 'Lather, Rinse, and OBEY' (it might as well say 'Brain Washing Shampoo') so no one will buy it, and no one will advertise it for him. Solution, Drakken enters a rap contest with his own song about his shampoo. Ron must stall the contest while Kim fights off Shego and wins the day...
