Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010)
Not a Bad Movie, Catered to Teens
After initially watching this movie I was a little disappointed in the execution of the plot, particularly it's uneventful homage to the American classic Red Dawn, but before hastily reviewing as such I realised that I only watched it based on the similar premise, therefore it cannot be held accountable on those grounds. The film itself was fairly well acted, though a little unnatural, and didn't quite capture realistic dialogue. It was certainly not a realistic scenario, nor was it very accurate in many regards to circumstances, but entertaining nonetheless. (Spoiler) By the end of the movie I was very upset, though, because I was unaware that it was the first in a series of movies. There really was not much action or violence given the plot, and it very abruptly and sloppily ended without much closure. Hopefully the sequels will hold onto the qualities that made this movie good and revive some of the less zealous bits to make a quality series.
