Crop And Save
One of the WORST Disney movies,
I first saw this movie when I was four. I absolutely hated it.
Here's why. Even at the age of four I saw the blatant sexism. Snow White is constantly having to be saved by a MAN. From her evil mother, the hunter has to let her go, the dwarfs have to shelter her, and finally the Prince has to bring her back to life.
She submits to cleaning for the untidy, unkempt dwarfs. She breaks into houses. She also can obviously not listen and understand logic. I always found her to be stupid. The girl eats an apple from a stranger after being told by the dwarfs that the Queen has many tricks and not to talk to anyone unless they were there.
It is just annoying.
Do NOT see this.
This movie has easily surpassed 'Lady in the Water' in terms of horrible film making. For one, the beginning of the movie seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the movie,...nor is it explained. It's simply a young couple going into a creepy cabin to have sex. In this scene the girl, says 'No,...this place is creepy' or something to the like, which only made me think 'Then why did you go in there?'
Secondly, nothing is ever explained. The first hour and a half is nothing but high school crap that deals with Molly partying, making friends, flirting, the typical popular girl stuff. It isn't until later that anything is even hinted at ((in the beginning we just know she was stabbed because her mother is insane)). Near the end, her mother escapes and attacks Molly-and Molly kills her. Molly then, knocks out her father and runs away. Later,...it's as though the decaying corpse in the middle of the room is gone. The father wakes up from his concussion and answers the door for one of Molly's friends and goes to look for Molly.
Thirdly, it isn't scary. Due to the fact that there isn't anything to be afraid of,...there isn't anything to be afraid of. In almost every scene, she turns a corner and creepy music plays. 'Oh no! A bird! Oh gawd, a door is open! Someone's foot is on the floor!' Honestly, these are from the movie.
Thirdly, the male character, Joesph annoyed so horribly. The whole time he's known her for a few days and wants to discuss feelings and near the end wants to run off with her. It's all so creepy.
Fourthly, the Molly girl is a nervous wreck. Everything makes her jump. Literally, every ten minutes she has a panic attack. it became annoying after the third one.
The acting is pretty bland as well.
The main part I liked was the ending tone that this evil entity overrides God. In the end, she tries to save her father in the name of God, but her father gets put away into an insane asylum and she keeps her 'powers' and is still owned by Satan or whatever.
The movie made me think she was owned by Satan by birth and then her parents would lose her. There wasn't much 'God' could do if Satan already had her. I left the theater thinking 'So what?'
