Great film. Not for everyone.
20 February 2022
Kristen stewart WAS the movie.

I didn't even care if her accent and mannerisms were on point. Her way of internalising Diana's emotions and subtly put them out is what blew my mind.

My only problem is the rest of the characters, not the cast, the characters... Flat.

Cinematography was amazing. Frames, movement and colors on point.

Now the story overall is a bit boring unless you only focus on Diana's states of mind throughout the whole film.

Truly LADY GAGA saved the film!!
15 February 2022
Story not so much IF u are not interested in the falling of the gucci family.

Lady gaga's performance is very good. You can't even recognise that it's her.

Adam driver not so much.

Al pacino was very good also, truly moving in the final act.

Jared leto... I Honestly do not know if that's good or bad acting (MAYBE the real Paolo was like that...) but still he needed direction, he felt out of place.

Salma was also very good with what she was given.

My only problem with this film is its tone and inconsistencies.

Overall a fun film to watch... Oh and yes gaga DESERVED a nomination!

Not for everyone and definitely not for me!
26 October 2021
Technically speaking, this film is good to be completely honest and fair. The real question is what else?

The story is boring. I know it's part 1, but you need to feed the audience for them to come and see part 2.

Cinematography was nice. Nothing spectacular though. Cinematic yes, but not cinematic enough.

The sound design and the music/score can be annoying and way too loud sometimes and even overlapping with the character's lines.

Performances:

Timothée chalamet is not a bad actor but these kinds of films are certainly not for him. He is not charismatic enough. His acting overall was below average here. He looked like he was about to fall asleep in every close shot.

Rebecca ferguson was really good. The way she portrayed jessica as this strong yet emotional lady makes you believe like you are watching a real character not a caricature.

Oscar issac, Jason mamoa were decent with what they were given.

Stellan skarsgård was a very interesting villain, not three dimensional but definitely interesting to watch. I love when villains don't overact and still be intimidating.

Sharon Duncan-brewster is an actress I am not familiar with her work but loved her acting in this film, will definitely be watching her other projects. Though I wish she had more screen time.

Javier Bardem, Josh brolin and Charlotte rampling were a waste. I mean Javier looked like he was forced to be in this film, his laziness was noticeable. AND what an awful way to end a character the way they ended gurney's...

Batista and zendaya were cast just because of their popularity.

Dennis villeneuve is a good director but he needs to understand that a director's job is not only about creating nice frames, it is also about bringing LIFE to the film and the characters (ACTING cannot do that alone) that did not happen here.

Little Women (2019)
1/10
Fine adaptation.
21 February 2020
The movie is definitely not bad at all, it was the first adaptation of little women that I have seen. And also i didn't read the book so my opinion is basically based on how the film was executed technically and the Screenplay without comparing it to the novel or the previous films.

Directing wise. Gretta Gerwig has a style and can be seen and felt in her movies (Little women, Lady Bird). I personally have no interest in that style of storytelling but it's not a WRONG or a BAD style so why not? But I was so annoyed and against what she deicide to do in the editing room... Probably she thought it will be a good idea doing these parallels but it wasn't especially with this kind of films. Coming of age, historically dramatic pieces can't afford to be edited that way because realating and investing in the film and the characters will be times harder. It should have been a simple edit with some flashbacks and that's it...

The cinematography was nice. I liked the cold and the worm moods, it helped the audience to seperate and tell because sometimes it was a bit hard to tell what it's now and what's then.

Acting was good. Outstanding? NO. Soirse ronan is a talented actress, no one can deny that. She has a nice way with displaying emotions and what she did in little women was more than enough.

Florence pugh was really good honestly. I liked how her character could have been the villain but she's stayed loyal to the story (this kind of film and story also can't afford to have a VILLAIN) but she sure showed us that amy can be mean, childish yet sympathetic. And when her character became in her 20's the acting and her skills are shown in a much much better way (her voice is amazing).

Eliza scanlen delivered a really honest opinion, The only time i got emotional in this film is when Beth is in the scene... She's quiet yet not so quiet. I love when actors can do that, though the editing was not fair and was about to destroy her performance.

Emma watson was nice, she was cute and likable, and since her character doesn't have much to do or offer, I am not gonna blame the actress.

Laura dern was ok. The very vulnerable characters don't suit her that much.

Timothée chalamet was kinda lost. I didn't like how he portrayed the character. No wonder Jo didn't fall for him, he can be the best friend at best. Sometimes he even looked lost. Not bad acting but kinda repetitive since he's doing the same things in every movie he's in.

Meryl streep was Meryl streep. No matter hiw much makeup or costumes are added. U can always tell that this is meryl streep acting. She acts good but that's it. U can never relate or feel with any of her characters.

Chris Cooper, louis garrel, James norton and jayne hoodyshell were all really good in their supporting work.

Editing was bad, like really really bad. The story overall is not bad, but can get boring. And the pace... Don't get me start.

Overall not bad film. Some elements uplifted the story and the film but so much TECHNICAL things can be changed for a better result.

Fishing for an Oscar much?
13 November 2019
Its one of those film that are formulated and calculated just to grab an oscar nomination... It was pure melodramatic but emotionally flat... There are scenes in the film that are made to make you feel something but you cannot because it's too fake.

Not what it's trying to be
13 November 2019
So I have watched the film recently after hearing so much good feedbacks about it.

I completely understand why some people loved this film and invested in it. It is one of those feel good and a little bit sad kinda movie.

The story was meant to be purely realistic which is very nice but was delivered as a beautiful page on instagram about Italy...

The direction was fine. The way the film was shot was nice but way too slow and a bit borring since most of the scenes are empty with nothing actually happening besides the discovery part...

Acting wise. Armie Hammer was below average... Yes he has what it takes to be the leading male in the appearance department but unfortunately acting wise, he was trying way too hard to be the cool dude and pretend to be gay... Did not work. Sorry

Timothée Chalamet was alright. You can tell that his real self is very similar to Elio's (you can tell by watching any of his interviews). His poppy face helps him so much in being innocent. But that is not enough. Yes the last scene was interesting to watch since its a long shot (but there was a song playing in his ear when acting this scene... ) but it was a little too late because during the film, his performance was very slow and way too subtle but in a very boring way... Ok we got it that he was discovering and so but then what... Again I am not saying he was bad but an oscar nomination? Really?

The father, the mother and the girlfriend were so fun to watch because even with their silence, they were heavily IN the film.

I like luca guadagnino, but this film was not one of his best work at all.

No what I expected!
9 November 2019
I'm honestly enjoying the show so far.

Yes it is political in many ways but why not?

The cinematography is really nice (feels very real and clean)

The acting is nice. You can tell that the actors are doing their best. Now i kinda blame the director for not fully directing them because you can still tell that jennifer and reese and steve are acting... Well but still acting.

I definitely recommend it.

Very smart series!
2 November 2019
I loved it... The story is very smart.

The dialogues and monologues are hard sometimes but beautifully written.

The acting is just so good and believable especially the one of Miss Jessica Lange.

Can't wait for season 2

The King (I) (2019)

OVERhyped!
2 November 2019
Ok so let me start by saying The King is beyond overhyped. First off, the story is very simple and not too complex which is not bad, but the problem occurs whith its emptiness... Not well developed and definitely not interesting.

The pace... Omg! So NOT for this film!!

The acting is very mediocre and sometimes unbelievable and empty by Timothée chalamet who is a very decent actor (miss stevens), but unfortunately not in this film. I thought he was gonna fall asleep each time the camera is on him... And the accent... Just No!!

Joel edgerton is really believable in this films without even trying.

Robert Pattinson is also good, he was charismatic, fun and not too melodramatic like the rest.

The cinematography and the visuals are very television and not cinematic enough.

You can tell that the director was trying to do his best but unfortunately with a boring script and story like that, nothing can be Very well done.

One of if not THE best show on tv
22 August 2018
Ok first of all I am a director student so I pay double attention on specific details.

Each season is beautifully unique and executed in its own way which make the show overall unique.

The cinematography. The directing. The story in each season is banging.

The camera movement is god damn good in each season. The acting.. Oh god, Jessica Lange is such a good actress.. Yea i know she put jessica lange in each part but its her signature and its amazing. Her acting is simply breathtaking. Sarah paulson is very good also. Emma roberta is fun. Kathy bates is awesome as usual. The rest of the cast is also good.

Overall the show is really good. My favourite one was COVEN. And the least one is freakshow.
