Mostly a hit, but needs some changes
7 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love Dan! And I went to this show because I love most cooking/baking shows and I adore Dan in anything and everything. I like Will ok but, if there's a season 2, I certainly hope Sohla does not return. She is completely unlikable and judges very harshly. Waaay too picky. I mean, can she even smile?? And it looks like it pains her to even give a compliment. Just a big dud. I mean, come on, even Paul Hollywood is less harsh and finds something to compliment. The rapport between judges usually really gels over a few episodes, but that's not the case here. Most of their chit-chat seems forced. But I love the challenges and the competitors.

They've Never Been Afraid To Go There
7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Even when it's not pretty, even when it's not comfortable, this show has never been one to shy away from the most important topics. This week's episode was completely heartbreaking. My childbearing years are over, but I have an adult daughter who I fear for every day. This episode included a story about a mom who needed an abortion due to an extremely risky pregnancy issue. But, because of insane and archaic laws designed and upheld mostly by old white men, her doctor was scared to treat her and risk losing their license. During transport across state lines, she has a medical emergency and dies. Yep, everyone, this is now the world we are living in. GA has always been hard hitting on the important topics. And the important topics are becoming uglier. I'm very interested in the direction they are going and I look forward to seeing how things play out. I'm also quite curious how the Zola/Boston storyline is going to unfold. As for the low rated reviews, personally, I find it difficult to put any kind of stock in reviews from people who watch a show they hate, just so they can hate on it. I've never been able to make sense out of that. For me, life is too short to waste any time unnecessarily doing things I hate. But, to each his own.

Oh, and one last thing. Literally no one is having a full term abortion for fun. Literally no one. If a woman has a full term abortion, it's because something has gone terribly wrong, either with mom or baby or both.

So, one more episode left in the season. I bet we are not going to like the finale ending. 😬

Very clever and unique 'reality' show.
21 September 2022
I'd say it's more of a 9.5 rating, because it could use a couple of tweaks. But first.....

Some of these bad reviews are just being silly. It may not be your cup of tea but some of those descriptions are so juvenile. 🙄

My favorite things: I loved all the puzzles and clues. All of the challenges were unique and interesting and I loved the one hour format, because they used that time wisely. I personally enjoyed learning more about these individuals and the 'confession chair' was informative, and a lot of fun. Many people like a 30 minute run time because TV trains attention spans to be very, very short. Aren't there enough crazy, over the top, dramatic shows out there? Ones that allow, neigh, encourage extreme negative behavior? They're just a chance to show the very worst of yourselves to the whole world. The more outlandish and over the top, the better the ratings.

This show is a little more meaty than that. And, while each character was a bit of an jerk on occasion, it was more the nature of advancing in the game than getting to behave consequence free. This game was meant for the contestants as well as the viewers.

This show wanted to showcase the contestant's personality, knowledge, puzzle and problem solving capabilities and strategy efforts. And I love that the time format allowed for that.

My biggest complaint is similar to some other reviews here. I wish that none of the contestants revealed to us who they were, right up front. Not sure why they left that up to the contestant because I'd guess most viewers wanted to play along too. The ones that didn't reveal, created fun audience participation. I really enjoyed working those out as the show went on.

I loved the dynamic of the contestants. Yes, there was some drama. But nothing cut throat.

Logan was my favorite person. Only one person really made a fool out of themselves, and that was on their departure. Just really a very unfortunate, ugly display of nastiness.

I really do hope the ratings are there for them to do a second season. What a breath of fresh air!

These episodes just keep getting better!

They tackle such complicated topics with grace and care. Not gonna lie. I never liked the character of Charly from the very start, so no love lost there for me. Can't imagine what next week will be. This one seemed like a good finale.

So far so good!

Warning: Spoilers
I was veery excited to hear about Taron in this role. Then when I saw him, well dayum. Boy got a trainer and some weights! I didn't even know he could grow muscles that big. The other main characters are great too. Casting is a hit with this show. One commenter mentioned not enough Ray Liotta. Umm, he passed away on May 26th of this year. I'm sure their plan will be using his stroke on the show as the reason he's not seen again. I hope they just 'kill him off' instead of trying to replace him.

I'm quite impressed with Farina.

OMG Divya, STFU!
9 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really behind on this series but it's been one of my favorites. Minus Divya. Ever since she had her baby, she's slowly become insufferable. Acting like she's the only woman who's ever struggled with the balance of work and motherhood. Like she's alone in that. Please 🙄 And she's so nosey about Jeremiah. She was ADAMANT about setting him straight when she found out he was in love with her. But, the second she finds out he likes someone who has appreciated him right from the start, she puts her nose right into it and mucks the whole thing up. I don't know how the future episodes go, but my guess is she has caught feelings for Jeremiah as soon as she sees he might be happy with someone else. She's not concerned, just jealous. Gross.

Evan has also become super annoying as well. He's impulsive, nosey and arrogant. Paige deserves so much better.

Such a bummer. I loved this show and all the characters since the start. I hate when character arcs really put me off.

This brought all the everything
30 May 2022
Twists and turns that would give you whiplash. I've been a faithful follower since the start. Oh sure I yell at the TV a lot. And I am completely guilty of threatening to stop watching, especially after certain cliffhangers. But this, THIS is the reason I still watch. This episode had me feeling seven different kinds of "what the hell??" However, this wasn't your run of the mill shock value. This was lies, betrayal, love, stress, mistakes and sadness. Something for everyone. For me, seeing the wheels come off after all this time, was impressive. Just enough different things, seemingly not connected, all came together in one perfect storm. I don't want to give spoilers, so I will just say this. The way they addressed a variety of ways that this world is broken, broke my heart to watch. Because there was way more truth than fiction in this episode. I did rewind and watch that episode sequence again, and that gave me so many feels. I think of all that's happened in my life during the run of this show and cannot believe how much time has passed. Very nostalgic. And I can say that I'm glad I never bailed. My loyalty remains intact. This was def the best episode I've seen in a very, very long time. It'll be interesting to see how they will kick off the next season.

The Originals: When the Saints Go Marching In (2018)
Season 5, Episode 13

Well we finally got there
27 April 2022
My husband and I came into this particular vampire world the wrong way. We started with two seasons of Legacies. Then I accidently stumbled upon TVD. At some point in the later seasons of that fantastic show, I learned about The Originals. So we headed there next. Just a little bit ago, we finished the finale. Now, I see ratings all over the place, but I've purposely not read any reviews yet. I wanted to get my thoughts out first. We've enjoyed all 3 series immensely. The last season of The Originals was a bit weird at times, only because we'd seen Legacies so we knew how certain story lines turned out. But no spoilers here. I will say, this family's adventures have brought out all the feels. I have never, ever cried so much about any show. Like Never. Never Ever. And I'm a retired binge watcher, so I've seen A LOT. It's weird how sometimes you can get attached to characters, and no matter how long you get to watch them, it's never enough. That's how I feel about Klaus & Elijah. Also, the core group of cast members, but I've loved both of those brothers dearly, through everything. I cried so hard throughout the last 2 episodes, I emptied out a half full tissue box. Lol My husband even stayed up way past his bedtime to finish up the last few episodes. I couldn't stand any more of the emotional rollercoaster of going to bed after a cliffhanger, the calmness of the next day, only to ramp up the emotions the next evening. I just wanted it over and done with. So we binged the last six episodes in one evening. Phew. It feels so weird to be done. All three series had a phenomenal writers. So many brilliant storylines, somehow always managing to converge into one big, meaningful plot. So impressive! So now we're headed back over to Legacies, to watch the current season. I cannot recommend these shows enough. Just be sure to watch them in the correct order.

Why am I not surprised?!
5 November 2021
It is sadly evident that the bad reviews/low ratings come from 1. People who have not even watched this. And/Or, 2. White people who are racist to their very core, while swearing that they are not. It's certainly not difficult to see that white privilege is alive and well. The USA has recently taken a giant step back in time. People think we've lost decades of progress. I say the progress was never there to begin with. This ugliness has been bubbling under the surface, just waiting for someone to come along and give people permission to do their worst. And here we are. If you can watch this then leave a review and make 'woke' jokes or express disgust then you have closed your mind where no progress can take place. Colin's story is important and if this series makes you uncomfortable, then that's an invitation to assess your life, choices and destructive behavior/thinking. Equality, compassion, kindness acceptance...these are the better choices. Without them, our society doesn't stand a chance. I cannot imagine watching this and only feel anger instead of compassion and sadness. The good things about his life do not negate all the difficulty. Imagine living your life with an underlying current that reminds you to be hyper-vigilant at all times, just because of your skin color.

It's Fluffy With His Own Fluffy Show
8 August 2019
This is a cute, lighthearted show that doesn't take itself too seriously. If you've had a bad day or stressed in general, or, just waiting for that Door Dash delivery, this show is the kind of show that will lighten your spirit a bit. How predictable that the rights are upset cos the political jokes are left leaning. And, it would go the same way if the whole scenario was reversed. So yeah, it's good to warn people that this show contains political content cos some people just aren't interested in that at all. But still a fun, lighthearted show.

Oh, P. S. Please lose the laugh track. That is all. 👍
