13 Going on 30 (2004)
A super comedy!
This is one of the best comedies I've seen recently. Jennifer Garner played her role really fantastic. It's a perfect film for teenage girls who want to grow up very fast. This film reminds us, that the childhood is a special and interesting part of our lives and we have to treasure it. "13 Going On 30" consists of two parts: a life of a teenage girl who wants to be popular at school and a life of a 30-years-old woman, who has a job, a boyfriend and can do everything she wants. It's very interesting to watch the behaviour of a 13-years-old girl in the body of a 30-years-old woman. The films is full of funny scenes, even pathetic sights (the best friend of the childhood marries other woman...), treasons (her friend becomes her competitor at work). So I recommend this movie for everyone. Don't miss it!
The Football Factory (2004)
A serious film about football fans
Well, the title of the film is indirect. You won't see a number one sport in the world - football in this movie. This film is about football fans. Strictly speaking, about their passion of fighting. It's their lifestyle. The fighting between football fans is nitty - gritty and the sport is in the second place. You won't see fans just watching the football match... No, you'll see only aggression, blood, drugs and fights. On the other hand, there were some funny scenes in the movie. The fans liked to play a trick on each other. Moreover, the acting was quite good and realistic. The rate of the movie is a bit fast and there are many dialogues, so this is not a movie for a relaxation... I recommend this film not only for people who like this wonderful sport. This film is about the life and the struggle for it...
I Got Five on It (2005)
A Funny Comedy With a Simple Plot
"I Got Five On It" is a funny comedy with a simple plot. This film is full of nasty remarks, swear-words and silly jokes. In my opinion, all the movies about black people and weed are similar. The film is not too long but it's a bit boring for me. That repeating and suchlike opprobrious language feeds me up. However, the actors play their roles really well, they impersonate "cool guys who like weed" really realistic and funny. The vocabulary of this film is full of invective and forwardness, so I would not recommend this movie for people, who like films with meaningful thoughts.. Otherwise, this film is a good way to provide light relief and to laugh from silly jokes. Especially I liked the scene in the toilet.. I'm sure you'll like it very much! All in all, I recommend this film for everybody, who wants to relax after a hard day...
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Ordinary Film About Zombies
So, what can I say about this film? I don't know why, but I do not like films about zombies anymore. Why? Because it is boring. A lot of directors choose zombies as the main characters in their horror movies. So, the films are very similar. "Dawn of the Dead" isn't an exception. On the other hand, this film about zombies is one of the best movies from this category. The director Zack Snyder showed really monstrous and realistic zombies (the amount of them was really big!) but they were stupid and heavy-footed like others. Moreover, I liked the acting of Sarah Polley (Ana) very much. This actress was a discovery for me. There is a lot of action in "Dawn of the Dead". Mostly, the scene is laid in a supermarket and in the cars. The actors lick the dust one by one and this fact frightens the film viewers. Especially I liked the end of "Dawn of the Dead". Only one or two people stay alive in the end of simple horror movie. "Dawn of the Dead" is an exception! Every character of the movie was killed by hungry and mad zombies...
The Black Side of Stardom
I've just seen this film and I can say that I like it. The plot is not very difficult, so you can sit, watch and relax. This movie shows the black side of being a star. So everybody who wants to be a famous actor\actress must have seen this film. It reminds us that the life of famous people is difficult, although they get really big honorariums for their roles. Moreover, the actors played their roles absolutely well. Especially I liked the performance of Cole Hauser (Bo Laramie). He is a great actor! In my opinion, it looked like Cole took the part of himself in real life. So, his acting is really realistic. The film is not very long, so your eyes won't be tired and the film won't bore you to tears. Although the plot is not difficult, the film is interesting enough. Of course, the film degrades the job of the paparazzi who are the biggest nightmare of all famous actors. After seeing this movie, the loathing for paparazzi continues to grow because they exceed all the quotas (they even encroach on Bo Laramie's and his family's lives...) To sum up, the film has no special effects or mega-stars, but it attracts us with its own glamour and simplicity. After watching this film, I asked myself: "Do I want to be a star?"
