This show is a brilliant example of exemplary sci-fi drama. Besides the stories, there is also the soundtrack and camera creativity that backs it up making it a superbly constructed show. What we have hear is a story of people discovering a power, a power that they didn't know they had and admit it or not, that is what we all want to have. We would all love to wake up one-day and discover that we are special in someway and show the world our unique individuality. In heroes, ordinary people like ourselves do gain special powers and it is in this fact that they are ordinary and that they have powers, that the show is driven in an enthralling way. It is a sci-fi human interest story with great imagination and creativity and I recommend you take a look. You may ask why I didn't mention much about the characters and story in detail; well the answer is in the comments above so I didn't want to repeat stuff. So get watching and vote cause votes are not coming in.
Stargate: Atlantis (2004)
The original Stargate movie was perhaps one of the finest sci-fi productions in recent times and it took a great effort to produce a TV version that would equal its appeal and excellence. Stargate Sg-1 did just that so it is understandable that to live up to such greatness would be near impossible and to do so is just to great a challenge. But here we are, reveling in the glory that is Stargate Atlantis. The drama is dished out to back up the pulsating sci-fi action. The stories are enjoyable and easy to take in and grasp a hold of, without being to repetitive of other shows. The characters are in keeping with the stargate personae and perhaps this is the only downfall in that the Atlantis central team is very much the same as Sg-1. The quirky one liners of Shephard are much the same as O' Neill, the muscular presence of Ronan reminds us of Teal'c, the scientific mastermind of Rodney is equal in brilliance to Carter and finally the no-now of the area and myths of Teyla can be compared to Jacksons knowledge of the universe many millennia ago. Without the ingenuity of character creations, Atlantis is a classic example of how to make a sci-fi show that enthralls the viewer and leaves viewers anticipating the next episode. Its a pity that American viewers have to endure a mid season break and similarly, the rest of us have to wait longer to receive the next season.
Crimson Force (2005)
This movie is dodgy, plain and simple. In some sequence you can easily tell that the characters are animated in-particularly the rock climbing shots. It wasn't even good animation. In another shot, the camera is all over the place. The camera man must has being shaking like mad. This is not acceptable in a modern day sci-fi flick but yet this movie was allowed to do it. Apart from that, the storyline is weak also. It all seemed like an episode of Stargate. The alien intrusion on Earths History, the staf like weapons and the dodgy looking crests here and their just gave the film a look of stargate rip-off which is just not on. Fair enough, originality is hard to get these days as almost all ideas have been done at some stage but to copy big elements so glaringly is the sign that the producers were half asleep when they were doing this picture. The acting was OK however but again not the best. Overall this film is a poor sci-fi flick so check out other sci-fi movies if you want to be entertained.
Erotek Dimensions 3D (2002)
Doria Rone is in it, thats all you need to know. She is the hottest star of the screen ever known. Wow! She is so sexy and beautiful that it is hard to grasp it. Aside from that, the movie is your typical cheap budget erotic flick with dodgy acting and story lines. Effects are a poor imitation of blockbuster movies and the sound is cheesy. But then again people don't watch erotic movies for the effects or acting but simply for entertainment and I guess this film fits that criteria although on that front its only an average movie but it'll do for a night in if your looking to see an incredible women. For 42, Doria is amazing and will be hard to better and she is the best part of this movie which would be poor without her.
The Life of David Gale (2003)
life of David gale
This is not David. I'm his girlfriend. He allowed me to comment on this film using his account.I first saw this film in my sisters house and Honestly I was bored in the first 15 minutes. I was going to turn it off, but my sister asked me not to. And I am very Glad I didn't turn it off. After the scene with The Video I began to try to work out the plot and I really got In to it. This film was in my view -fantastic. I nearly had a heart attack at the twist at the end. I got such a shock I actually started crying.I never guess that plot, it didn't even enter my head that Spacey Was involved In the Murder.I thought It was Dusty the whole time. Kate Winslet was brilliant. And i never liked Kevin Spacey. But after the performance in this film I can see what a great actor he is.
I would recommend this film for a night in. Brilliant film.
10 out of 10.
The formula is simple. Fancy weaponry, alien landscape and grotesque creatures. You can't go wrong with a film of this type because it contains the factors that make for a bit of crack with a few cans of beers and a groups of friends around. Beer and movies are fun but it helps if the movie is entertaining and has lots of action and technology that is different than todays world. Doom delivers on these premises. Perhaps from a story point of view it is not hat powerful but who cares when you have the fun factor. After all their are two types of films; those that entertain and those that arouse the mind. Doom entertains but doesn't touch the surface of technically brilliant movies such as Pulp Fiction or Aliens which entertain but contain elements of light, sound and camera brilliance. Doom is a for one thing only and that is to watch a movie without thinking. Enjoy.
