This movie was the most melodramatic two hours of my life. The constant
re-playings of flashbacks and wordy narrating was enough to put the man
on my left asleep. To add to the poor quality of this movie there was
the quality of the picture, sound, and animation which were cheap
ploys. The story line dragged out, accompanied by climatic musical
overtures, bad acting, and side-conflicts the screenwriter presents,
then leaves unanswered.
Though this movie did have some strong aspects: the wonderful wardrobe and makeup of Queen Ester, the monkeys that were quite comical, and three inserted light humored lines, it lacked in everything else.
I love the story of Ester, its up there with the story of Rehab. It just was very tedious to seen it interpreted so poorly. This would have been good if they had inserted some chorus numbers and choreography.
