Kadak Singh (2023)
A very mediocre ending to a potentially good investigative thriller!
As described in the label Kadak Singh is a very mediocre ending in what could have been a potentially very good investigative thriller. 5/10 rating is mainly for Pankaj Tripathi's acting skills which even with minimal expressions delivers a very watchable experience, his crisp dialogue delivery does most of the job to entertain the viewer. Movie begins fairly on a good note depicting life of a typical urban middle-class, partially broken family engrossed in brutal struggle to survive & thrive, a Father who seems married to his job more or less, though movie did seemed to be a drag at times as it progressed. However the ending fell completely flat as what was expected to be a big shot expose came out as a dumb outcome. In what could have nicely depicted the deep nexus of political class with financial crime sydicates only trying to blame the agencies themselves. Everyone knows that large scale financial crimes are impossible without adequate blessings from the ruling political dispensation, one of the recentmost e.g being that of Chattisgarh, WB already a well-known thing. This movie very conveniently obliviated this fact tried to divert from it almost completely.
Dhootha (2023)
Stupendofantabulous Chumeshwari performance!
Penultimate mind-blowing story telling! An amazing build-up of story right from start, in the middle right till the end nicely connecting the dots. Horror which thrillingly terrifies & not let's the viewer get bored & grips him/her in mystery. Naga Chaitanya's performance is too good, over it his simple look in a dashing yet super-sexy moustache the classy Mard look nails it to the core. Prachi Desai seemed a bit subdued, could have bee more eleborated though part of the writing so can leave it. Subtly spread across episodes is shown the level of perversion & corruption/rot in the system which needs to be cleansed but can only be done with ultra-will & truthfulness.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Mediocrity at its best!
A real mediocre sequal to such a good launch film (Wakanda 2018) & Marvel character of Black Panther. Weak scripting seen where neither death of Black Panther (T'Challa) was properly addressed while also it was needlessly long where entire story could have been easily narated in 110 min rather than runtime of 161 min. How did BP contract the illness isn't explained. A boring introduction of Namor (superhero cum villain). Shuri's character played by talented Letilia Wright seemed confused. The potential brightspot of Nakia though deserved more screentime. All in all poor treatment of characters killed a potentially good sequal. Same was with Thor Love & Thunder. Marvel writers seem to be going through a burnout something similar to what Star Trek writers & producers faced post DS9 (1999). Hope upcoming GOTG3 will be good Marvel quality.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Week narration, weak humour ruined a potentially good sequal!
Weak narration from the very beginning of the film (villain choosing evil over Gods for planet's suffering induced by God's). Humour throughout the film felt forced upon when none needed & story could keep afloat easily. Humour in Thor Ragnarok was quite natural & meled with the plot. This time not really. Thus only ruining the story telling. Also, Jane Foster role felt not properly developed & weak. Had hoped for a slight longer screen time with GOTG characters to spice up the movie which w'd have been better. Thor character (Chris Hemsworth) slightly weakened to make way for lady Thor but hope he's resurrected to his full potential for next sequal if it's to be made. Hope Director Taika Waititi doesn't repeat same mistakes.
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014)
A full-on romantic Comedy n masala entertainer!
Such a sweet full on masala entertainer film, although it ended a bit abruptly but its okk given the soulful performance of Alia n Vishal. Was the first film i watched after almost 6 months being very busy n the movie did not disappoint me at all. Thumbs Up Dharma Productions once again! The comedy is very natural n well timed n natural, Alia looks ravishing! Main Tenu Samjhawan will mesmerize you! Technically the film is very sound n also sweet part in the film was very subtle portrayal of India's emerging Metro young generation which is very fun loving, is bubbly, liberal, westernized in dressing but still Indian values do rule the heart of almost all of them. The Indian roots strong enough to not go away despite generations of change. How? For that one has to watch the film for e.g the Female protagonist (Alia) decides to return the Marriage Jewellery set from the lady they had got in form of ransom because immense emotional attachment a married Indian women has with her Marriage jewelery set. That is s true reflection of deep embedded Indian values!
Darling (2010)
A complete family entertainer! Really a must see film n one of the most i've enjoyed in recent times!!
A blockbuster entertainer and a complete family film i must say it appeals to every kind of audience... even though i don't know Telugu but i've really enjoyed this film. Having a real good script to back it with superb performance by Prabhas and charming Kajal who has everything for me to fall for her! With an thrilling start the film cruises towards the interval with real good twist and turns when they (Prabhas and Kajal) actually meet up... and then the picnic stay is full fun when some good songs in-between... not to tell too much about the story i bet the ending is equally awesome with some real good action by Prabhas... man this Actor is the flourishing actor in Telugu cinema i must admit... Kajal so serene she looks equally good in the beginning and also later in more Indian outfits... God she's immensely Pretty when in Saris... I feel I'm the one who's in move with her...Anywayas this movie will guarantee you good Pace through along with some sweet Emotional moments which are equally relishing after-all its also about True Friendship... It truly deserves my rating 9/10...
Khuda Kay Liye (2007)
Music can break boundaries, so can cinema and the movie uses this as its tool.
Seeing this movie quite late after its release in India i must say, this movie can be a good eye opener for Indians across India who are filled a lot of stereotypes about Pakistanis & Islam in Pakistan at large. Even Pakistan has well educated middle-class who are in the Western attire. However th' re caught in an identity crisis as to what to do in the post-Sept. 11 era. The're entangled in a web by fundamentalists n liberal thinkers. Here comes the Identity crisis which has gripped such a society into a no-man's land. The movie is about an effort to breakout of that 'Identity Crisis' till its too late. Songs are amazing, just reflecting the western influenced pop culture of Pakistan. Story is dramatic n has a lot of depth. The movie shows how Music can break boundaries.Although some parts also reflected some hardline religious ethos which Muslim world have not able to come out and are still evolving in that matter. Such as the interpretation of Music being 'Haraam' by one of the hardline clerics in Lahore. And also marriage outside religion which is a very big Question mark across all religions around the world. Anyways my rating is 8/10. Thumbss Up... to director and the producers for a dramatic effort.
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006)
Well a good plot, however falling flat at major instances in the movie!!!!!
One has to honestly say that the movie fails to meet the huge expectations its created before its release, many parts of the movie go unexplained, imitable bachchan has unfortunately ended up overacting, rani's character is a quite boring, but shahrukh khan is good as ever, but hey karan johar was it necessary to drag the movie for 3 hrs. 15 min. It could easily been cut short. Also songs although not too many seemed too much due to typical sequence they put and some even seemed to have dragged upon such as where's the party tonight thus in no way matching the situation of the movie n the mood. But there are good points such as song Mitwa!! n of course the title song which i can cherish for years to come, on the acting is indeed very good but hey something did seem to go wrong!!!!! therefore final score 5/10......
Black (2005)
A movie which makes you see light in darkness is what is black is all about.
One of the marvelous piece of dramatic performance by the glowing lights of Hindi cinema to make it glow much more! truly a lifetime experience watching this film which makes your emotions come out with joy in full force! hands up for the technical team for making a black n white film after making colorful films in the past n showing that he's no way overrated! Cheers for Rani n Amitabh Bachchan for showing that good acting comes from within and has to learns over years n cannot be achieved by wild card entries through big banners which is nowadays in fashion! I have seen the movie 2 times in cinema theater and love to experience it after n after!
