Devil in Ohio is a about a young adult girl who escapes a cult and is eventually taken in with a family. As you watch, you discover more about her, where she is from, & what she has endured during her time there.
Right off the bat i discovered this series is based off of a book, which is also based off a 50/50 percent true story. So as much as i thought this series could do better & go in depth more with characters & storyline, I feel they didn't have much leeway with that option.
Aside from thinking they could've done much better with the storyline, the actors who portray these characters are not good. As i've read in other reviews, I am not quite sure why Emily D has great rapport given the fact that her deliverance in this series was pretty disappointing. I could say the same for Xaria, Alisha, & Naomi in the top billed cast. If i hear one more musical reference I will chuck my remote across the room.
As for the storyline, I really don't have much to say about it. The first 2-3 episodes definitely kept me intrigued but by the 5th one I think they could've made this series into a 5 episode show instead of making 8. The soundtrack & plot do not match the mood, and at some points it gets quite annoying.
In all i decided to give this series a chance as right now it's rated #1 in the U. S with its release. This series is a great example of how just because it's rated #1 in TV series, DOES NOT mean you should watch it.
