Southland Tales (2006)
This film is neither the horrendous catastrophe or mind-blowing brilliant picture that people would have you think. It lies somewhere in the middle and makes for an interesting film despite it's obvious weaknesses.
The main problem is the acting and dialogue. Kelly, as mentioned in countless reviews, is going for a 'Lynchian' feel for this film. Lynch has always been able coax strange, yet effective performance out of his actors that Kelly cannot seem to muster. Instead the perfs come off as intentionally poor and uninspired. This is my only huge criticism of the film.
