Henry Danger (2014)
Another diverse Opinion
Wide variation. I don't like the show, doe many of the reasons mentioned here.
But what is most fascinating is that people take time to dis the show. If you don't like it, don't watch it
Star Falls (2018)
I really loved this show.
OK it's not perfect. There are shows on Nick and Disney that I think are hideous but are very successful. I conclude that this is because I am old. The shows that continue are aimed at 6-14 y.o. Hence the bad reviews.
Kamala and Siena are, as I have said on Twitter, comedy gold. Lucy and Ethel. Laverne and Shirley. Abbott and Costello. Martin and Lewis.
To me, it's a feel-good show. I watch episode repeatedly. Bought the entire season. Watching it makes me feel good.
I believe it is nearly the perfect show
The Massively Mixed-Up Middle School Mystery (2015)
Should Have Been A Nick Series
Just a fun, well acted show. I thought it was going to be a half hour series and I was very disappointed that it was a one shot thing.
Their process of solving the mystery was also pretty good and an illustration of good problem solving techniques.
Well done.
Clipped (2015)
Love Ashley Tisdale But...
I love Ashley Tisdale. I would tune in to a half hour show of her reading the phone book. And it would be better than this.
First, it's not funny, it's sad. Second the characters are caricatures rather than a fleshed out person who might actually exist. Third, most of the humor is potty-humor (that is too sophomoric to be high school humor.) Fourth, token gay guy? Check. Fifth, token black? Check. Sixth, short guy who's a failure owns the shop? Check.
I follow Ashley on Twitter and read her tweets about the show. I was looking forwards to seeing it, glad to see her back on TV. She's done other projects that are hilarious so the fault lies not in our stars but in the writers who ran out of ideas at episode 1.
Saw (2004)
Why
Can anyone tell me why anyone would want to see this piece of garbage? Is there not enough trash out there already with the "horror" genre.
What is the point of seeing people eaten, torn apart, shot, cut in half, chopped up, tortured?
There is the "Saw" series, the "Grudge" series, the "Freddy" series, the "Chainsaw" series, the whole series by Lionsgate.
What kind of warped people what to see these? On the other hand, nudity or showing love makes the movie NC-17 (X) and therefore impossible to show in theaters. Does this not seem odd?
This trash is, or should be, classified as slasher flicks, not horror movies. Horror movies depend more on what is not shown than what is shown. While this provides suspense, it does not satisfy the need for gratuity blood. The reason these films are made. is not for the artistic value, but because teenagers will go see them.
What is surprising is that the recent slaughter in the Amish community or on the Florida turnpike or in Columbine, or in Vermont or the parents and three teenage girls in Ohio shocks people.
2BPerfectlyHonest (2004)
Spoiler - Why was this movie made?
I watched this movie because I love Hayley Mills.
However - I am not sure what is supposed to be "real" and what is part of the bedtime story, or is the bedtime story even real? Was there a business that failed or was the bedtime story just Josh making up a story about people his son knew. (Not to long ago Billy, your Uncle Buck and I took a trip to the moon...)
What was the point of Frank urinating down his leg? That had nothing to do with anything. Why did such a young person have a heart attack, other than it was a convenient plot device? Was it related to the running gag about his mother's cooking yet he eats junk food at the restaurant?
There are movie I regret watching, because I would have preferred a happier ending, or a different ending, you know, where John and Sally get together instead of going their separate ways; this movie I regretted watching because it is just bad.
But I still love Hayley.
The Parent Trap (1998)
Who Is Hallie?
The credits note "For Hallie" Does anyone know who this Hallie was?
In reality, if it took "all of thirty seconds" Hallie and her dad would have arrived at the airport before Elizabeth and Annie left. Remember, this is only a movie.
Meredith is obviously none too bright if she believes that Nick is going to choose her over the girls or that she can make the girls lives hell. The two girls would simply move to England and live with their mother. But, this is movie and as such is not intended to be logical.
All in all, I hope that Ms. Lohan eventually is in a movie that allows her to use her acting talents. Regardless of her detractors, I believe she is quite talented.
In Her Shoes (2005)
Shirley MacLaine and Toni Collete and the art of performance.
I know it's possibly a good movie when it seems to wander at the beginning. Plot elements are being set in place and when these are tied together well it is a great movie. Candice Azzara is perfectly cast - I cannot think of another actress who could have captured the lovable malice of the character.
Toni Collete is one of two or three actresses who seem like clay - they are molded into whoever (whomever?) they need to be. She has set for herself a hard act to follow in "About A Boy" and "Muriel's Wedding". Here she shines! Need plain? Got Plain. Need Beauty? Got Beauty. Need Icy? Got Icy. Need Warm? Got Warm.
And do not miss Shirley MacLaine's eyes as she talks to "Maggie" when they are playing cards.
