I am devoured.

So amazing. The most amazingly amazing amazing thing that has ever been transmitted to homo sapiens. Galdriel is so well written. She is balanced and has a great depth. I particularly enjoyed how the show accurately depicted her holding her own with the men in fight scenes just like the superheroes that is clearly designed to mimic. The insistence on diversity in the relationships is wonderfully refreshing and really adds to the authenticity of Tolkien's vision.

It's so great that they have the budget to continue to make this product well into the end times.

Allahu Akbar. God is great. Peace.

Reviews are misleading
3 December 2020
Offensive and poorly made tripe with unbelievable situations and characters whose motivations are as inconsistent as the performances.

Comedy that re-writes the rules
3 November 2019
On twitter Jamie Demetriou jokingly admitted that he made this programme for me after I tweeted how much I disliked it. He should be praised for responding to criticism and that accounts for the on star, Despite some absurd situations Demetriou fails to clown convincingly and his sister's characterisation are painfully unfunny. What is more worrying is that those who appreciate the show have highlighted that this is inspired by a particular London culture. It appears that the London they are referencing is the London of the working class, the learning disabled and the mentally ill. For middle class comics to write about the disenfranchised of their city in this manner leaves a bad taste in the mouth. There can be no other explanation for the performed personas who almost uniformly are guileless and designed to irritate.

Let down by action heavy finale
20 June 2019
Like the Blade Runner the studio wanted instead of Denis Villesneuve's overcooked melodrama. Looks amazing and has plausible tech with appropriate use of budget but the story degenerates into a John Wick-lite series of fights and action beats which detract from the overall plot.

Second rate dilaogue from assistant turned writer.
20 June 2019
Yet another show that is content to let assistants step up to writing duties in the second season. It can work but on this occasion the dialogue is awful and characterisation of supposedly weathered gangsters is inconsistent.
