The acting was great, but the storyline was awful. I blame the writers for crafting this terrible story. There was no satisfying conclusion to the movie, and as one who helps to reunite adoptees with birth family, in real life this storyline is a set up for disaster with the "secrets". I hated this movie and will never watch it again.

Excellent Movie

This movie touched me deeply. Being from a military family, I was so glad this movie showed how our fallen are cared for with such great respect. I bless every soldier who is part of the team that takes care of our heroes. I will add that I wept copious tears through the course of the movie.
Kevin Bacon did an amazing job playing Lt Col Strobl. I highly recommend this movie.

This was probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The mother's attitude was horrendously selfish, not wanting to accept her child if there were long term defects from the accident. While there is a time of grief in a situation like this, it leads to loving acceptance and gratitude that you still have your loved one - I lived it. The entire storyline is incredibly far fetched - so far from reality, including the medical stuff. Even the title is misleading. True courage would have been loving and caring for their child in a realistic setting, such as a long term care facility, then bringing her home. What is real courage? Taking care of your spouse who has had a stroke, or taking care of your child who has an incurable disease. Something that made me laugh was the so called ventilator the daughter was on..they didn't even attempt to make it look like she was intubated which is what being on a vent entails. At the conclusion of the movie, I felt like I wanted 1h 24m of my time.
