Mysterious Ways (2000)
Great - But more that 1 season was too much
I remember watching Mysterious ways about 2 years ago on FX in the UK and I loved it - It was clever, original and different. Each story was a change from the last. Here in the UK the series came to an end, and at the beginning of this year I was pleased to find a new series on the Sci-fi channel. I sat down with high expectations and was solely disappointed. Each story was full of coincidences that at the end of day were fully unexplained. If I has watched Mysterious ways from this point I would of put it down as a 4 or a 5 but due to the extremely good 1st series I will give it an 7. I would recommend the series to anyone but start from the first series not the second.
Thieves Like Us (2007)
Good comedy that probably needs more publicity
About 3 weeks ago my sky box decided to give up on me. My TV comes with digital TV but I am only able only to get BBC 1 BBC4 and ITV 1 ITV3. This sucks since with sky I get about 500 Channels but with digital I am able only to get about 10 (this is a review about thieves like us - PROMISE!!). Anyway I planned my Tuesday night with my 10 channels and between airport and Waking the Dead I had nothing to watch, but I came across a comedy called (yeah you guessed it!) thieves like these. If I had my sky Box on I would of usually missed this comedy - I didn't see it advertised or in the paper. I watched it and at the end of the episode I was delighted. I had found a comedy that had been missing in my life for so long. The acting is great and I'm sure that most of them will go on to do better things. The story line so far is clever, new, maybe a bit stupid but still down to earth.
I am afraid to say though that this may not get far UNLESS it is able to make it to BBC 2. If it does then I can see the producers doing 2-3 series. It's just a shame that the BBC is putting the good stuff on BBC 3 and 4, were people can easily miss what could be the next best thing.
I would recommend anyone that is into any sort of comedy to watch this; it's a very light hearted take on a petit criminal and his life. Him and his best friend have good intentions that usually ends up on the wrong side of the law to make that extra £.
Jam & Jerusalem (2006)
This thing won't let me Vote 0
Rubbish - Utter rubbish Why?
- Its not a comedy - Its Bad Acting - Not Storyline - Makes as much sense as my cat does - The characters are out of character - BADLY ADVITISED
Yeah - The list goes on
This IS NOT what French and saunders are used to doing, they should stick to making great comedy's like Ab Fab, Vicar of Dibly. Not this Rubbish.
Kill this series before it gives the great British comedy a bad name. Seriously, my dog is a better source of comedy when it is asleep!
