Please Watch & Decide For Yourself...
19 November 2021
I encourage people to watch this show, and decide for yourself. The critiques of many of those who gave Barkskins a bad review, give the WORST reasons for giving it a bad review. It's not that I don't believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. They are. No matter how misguided, ill informed and obtuse. In my opinion this show is so well done, beautifully performed, has a wonderful cast, and has incredibly well written dialogue. I'm fairly sure this was an expensive show to produce with it's beautiful locales, and sets that make it seem all the more real! In fact, the village that was built for this show was so complete, and utilitarian, the buildings were actually sold when it was determined that there wouldn't be a season 2. In other words, these weren't just facades or exterior only buildings.

Such a shame.

I have noticed that most reviewers who didn't like this show share some similar traits. Many make completely incorrect statements that I can only guess is their opinion, but are shared as if they are facts. Someone complained that these American actors can't deliver a line with a French accent. However, the actor that was referred to is actually British. In fact, the majority of the cast is British with some Canadians, and all are incredible artists. Marcia Gay Harden is 1 of only a few American actors who are part of this cast, and I can say with all confidence, Ms. Harden has zero difficulty in speaking English with a French accent. If you disagree then I'm sorry, but you're wrong. In fact, all the actors who portray French characters, do an excellent job with their accents.

Some other traits shared by many who gave the show a bad review also included things like multiple typos and misspelled words... Interpretations on what's transpired in the story that are utterly incorrect... And finally, many gave a very low rating, even though they admit to ONLY WATCHING 1 or 2 episodes! That seems not only unfair, but a little disingenuous. It's a little like watching 10 or 15 minutes of a movie, and telling people not to watch it because you already have, and it was terrible. I suppose I am a more than a little partial to this show, because I found it to be a rare jewel and had every hope that there would be a second season. I have read several reliable postings that there will be no second season. 😕 Given that there was supposed to be a 2nd season, the ending to season 1 may confuse some.

There is one truth about this show that I find rather strange. For whatever reason, people either seem to LOVE this show or absolutely HATE it. Do yourself a favor, and at the very least, watch it and decide for yourself.

Close Enough (2015– )
Confusion Galore
18 December 2019
Someone or some ones, have utterly confused the yet to be released J.G. Quintel (creator of Regular Show) cartoon Close Enough, for an older movie or TV show with the same name. This page is NOT about the upcoming animated show with the same name. The most recent news regarding the excruciatingly long delayed release of the forthcoming animated show entitled Close Enough, is that it is finally going to be released on HBO Max in 2020. This is confirmed information by Quintel himself on Twitter, as well as Animationmagazine. This should finally end all uninformed gossip of various sources that the show was permanently cancelled, never to see the light of day.
