Best new show in years, 3 August 2005

98% of the shows on TV aren't worth watching, but 'House m.d.' is the rare exception. 'House' is irreverent, provocative, courageous and unique in just about all respects. Hugh Laurie deserves an Emmy, along with the writers of the show. The character they've created in Dr. House is one of a kind, and unlike any character I've seen on the tube in my life-time. He's nasty, discourteous, cynical and plain-spoken... seemingly without regard for anything but what he see's as true. But for all that, he comes off as the most dedicated of men, and absolutely committed to the ultimate well-being of his patients.

I haven't gone out of my way to catch the latest installment of a TV series in more than a decade, until now.
